Where were you during the eclipse? I've been digging through some old footage during the downtime. This was an amazing experience so I'm glad to finally share it with you all.

what surprised me most about the eclipse is how the insects reacted. the crickets started going off. I love that he mentions this.
  • @badradiocaller
Loved the ambience of the windmill blowing in the wind.
  • @gioflores
Stayed home from school just to watch this eclipse, good times.

I have to give you mad props for this. Not only because of the good footage & documentation but how you literally expressed & noted all of the unseen such as the ambient temperature changes, the lighting of the day of the surroundings. How the crickets came out. The behavior of the animals. Just the change in everyday life behaviors during this event was pretty spectacular. Thanks for this video it truly is mind boggling & well worth watching over & over!!!

The poor old cavemen mush have shat themselves :o

Do you know how LUCKY you were to have clear skies!? And so close to the edge of the eclipse path - short totality but would have been an awesome diamond ring effect. A bit jealous. Well done and thanks for sharing.

What I so love about this video is the obvious joy that Chris felt as he experienced the eclipse. "This is SO cool!" I sense that joy and simple wonder in many of his videos. He has the eyes of a child and I mean that in the very best sense. Chris: As my late Mom used to say to me, "don't get old."

I experienced the total eclipse in '17 the most awesome experience of my life. The most phenomenal thing for me was it went from dusk dark to night dark in an instant. It was like turning off a light switch only you were outside. I felt special because all I had to do was go out on my deck to view it, front row seat to the best show on earth and it was free.

The shade that comes over the land during a total solar eclipse feels otherworldly like you've entered a completely different realm❤

I've never seen a total eclipse before, other than on TV, but this video really put me on the scene. I did experience a partial eclipse 30-40 years ago in northern Wisconsin. Went into my front yard, armed with two white paper plates, one with a pinhole in the center, turned my back to the sun, and watched the sun imitate a phase of the moon---on a paper plate. Got no side effects, though, as it was only partial. Thanks for posting this, Chris. Everybody stay safe.

I saw it in Tennessee that year and I’ll never forget it.
  • Teacher: any more questions about the eclipse? Student: you know what the animals are thinking?

I went for the full solar eclipse on the Oregon coast a few years ago! It got really foggy, the temperature dropped, and the birds were all flying inland like it was time to go roost. Really cool to see your experience of this one in a different setting!
  • @Sarah-bell
I remember the first one I got to see it was amazing mid morning and the birds suddenly stop signing, thanks for sharing you picked a good spot
  • Your version is awesome. So you kept the regular sound too. This is exactly what I wanted when I looked up solar eclipse. Thanks and hope your trip was great.
