Exo car builds are some of the coolest supercar-slaying street racers to rise from the underground car scene. These semi-legal lightweight performance projects cost next to nothing, but boast insane power-to-weight ratios that can rival million dollar exotics. If you're looking for a cheap supercar or best first track car to beat Ferraris with, then exoskeleton cars like the Ariel Atom, Exomotive Exocet, or krowrx xtegra could be the answer.

this is why I haven't bought a ferrari yet! Would be so annoying to spend a little bit of my money on a new Ferrari F8 and be gapped by a miata that's been half sold off as spares.
  • Got to ride in an old school style dune buggy that was street registered. But the guy didn't mention it had 500+hp. Thing was so fast my brain struggled to comprehend it. 😁 And I loved every second of it.

Thumbnail is very misleading. You’re spending way more than 5k. A little go kart costs 5k.
  • I think the real danger with amateur-made exo cars is the lack of understanding when it comes to proper space frame design, specifically in terms of crash safety. Some of those frames really didn't look like they'd hold up in any sort of impact, especially side-impacts.

"the 1,312lbs curb weight. That's less than your mom" Lost it.
  • We forgot to mention the VW beetle based Dune Buggy. They’ve been around for a while 👍. I swapped an EJ25 Subaru engine in and it’s curb weight is 1450 lbs and rated at 165 hp. Fun times!
  • "That's lighter than your mom" had me dying. Nice one lol These exotic cars are cool. Great hobby projects. Could even teach kids to drive early in them since they are smaller. Would love to build one myself one day.
  • In most countries outside the US, you are unlikely to get such a creation road registered. Certainly in the EU.

Building my Exocet right now and I absolutely love it.

I had a Polaris Slingshot and it definitely had a similar feel to what I imagine an exo would be like. It was 1600 lbs, had a 4 cylinder GM engine in the front, and 0-60 of around 4secs. It was some of the most fun I ever had driving that thing around and for 15k it was one of the best decisions I made in my youth lol
  • My choice would be the DF Goblin, more weight on the rear tires with the engine in the back, little custom work & it could be a wonderful daily troller 😛

Love your videos man keep em coming much appreciated 💯❤💫

He really should of mentioned the DF goblin made one my self and is a incredible car and for a great price and very easy to build

The Roadkill boys did something similar years ago with a cheap hammered Corvette. Turned it into a track monster.
  • I made one based off a Miata, was extremely fun. Being I was 17 at the time yes it was extremely cheap lol
  • If you want to beat super cars on a budget get a used sport bike. Run 10s or lower on a stock 1000cc bike. 170+ hp in a vehicle that weighs less than 500lbs does wonders
  • Congrats on 61k+ subs. Appreciate you mentioning the pros and cons of this build

I see we are already preparing for the Mad Max part of the apocalypses. Good job on being ready!
