Never declare war on a man, who has fought so long to live in peace.

Fun fact: this was the last Hollywood film to be released on VHS and is also technically a DC Comics movie
  • One does not simply walk up to the King of Gondor and threaten his family. He went toe to toe with Sauron.

“A hormone sandwich” took me out 😂😂😂

Vigo Mortensen is such an underrated actor. A lot of his movies seem to fly under the radar.

I remember thinking that Tom locking the front door and forcing his brother to lower his weapon to look for his keys was so simple and yet realistic to disarm him. Most of the action in the movie is believable and realistic making all the more intense.

that is no weak man, that is aragorn, son of arathorn, you owe him your allegiance.

Viggo is a very physical actor. I remember him in "28 Days" as a MLB pitcher in rehab, and he can sure throw a pitch.

This was actually a really good film! The story was written, just right! I didn’t rush and do anything, it built up the characters and had the perfect plot twist. Whenever you thought you knew a character, the film would show you otherwise!

The scene in the yard is amazing. You actually see Tom turn back into Joey
  • This was a great film, much better than i was expecting at the time... If you're a fan of movies like Taken, John Wick & Nobody then this film is for you. It follows a similar template, but delivers a far more grounded and realistic story and characters that are each consistently intriguing and captivating throughout. It's a shame this film was released prior to the rise in revenge movies as it missed the recognition it deserved... On the other hand however, I'm grateful they never ruined it by forcing it into a franchise, too

The scene where toerag Bobby gives the finger to the two evil robbers in their pickup, right there you saw the Who Gives The Most Evil Stare food chain. RIP to William Hurt, who was rightly (and should've won) nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role. Ed Harris was also scary af in this as well.

Viggo plays a great russian mobster in Eastern Promises.

Viggo Mortesen playing Tom is awesome 😎. Just like his performance as Aragon in The Lord of The Rings Trilogy
  • They didn't think he was weak. They recognized him from him disarming and killing two armed robbers singlehandedly. They wanted revenge for some unfinished business from back in the day.

It's called " A History of Violence" with Viggo Mortesen he's awesome 😎

I don't know how I never saw this movie. It's definitely in my wheelhouse. I had forgotten Vigo and Ed Harris were both in the movie "Appaloosa". A great western btw.
