I grew up on this and had it on VHS 📼. A classic that never gets old. “I am a Chainbelt in Kung-Fu. Bruce Lee was my teacher. Watch this.”
  • In the jail cell standing next to Eddie was a very young Giancarlo Esposito.

So happy you remembered the 2 homeless old guys from Coming to America

So glad I got to grow up watching some of the best comedians.

The cop sitting behind the desk talking about angel dust is Frank Oz. He was the long time voice of Grover on the show Sesame Street, Ms. Piggy on The Muppet Show and Yoda in all of the Star Wars movies.

The pawn shop guy was Bo Diddly. A guy who happens to be a founder of rock n roll.

Trading Places came out in 1983, and also Eddie's stand up comedy show Delirious also came out in 1983. Coming To America came out in 1988. The Duke Brothers have a cameo in the middle of the movie when Akeem and Lisa go out on their first dinner date.

The guy in the pawn shop was Bo Didley, a fantastic Bluesman guitarist.

#1 favorite comedy of all time in my book. Just such a brilliant comedy!
  • I love it! The white girls are freaked out about Akryod's black face, the black guys couldn't give a s*hit.

The pawn shop owner was the late great Bo Didley. And, the shorter of the two drunks moving the gorilla is a congressman now.

My first words every year are “Merry New Year!!!”👍🏾😂

Gus Fring of "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul" was in the jail with Eddie. Jim Belushi was on the train.

“Yeah, the phone in the limo is busted. What are you, Ignorant?!” Best line ever lol.

The WTC scenes are spectacular. I had the opportunity to visit in 1988, those buildings were IMMENSE. Crazy to think they’re not there anymore.
