Numerous people have asked me "Do you need a business license from the state of Nevada in order to drive for Uber and Lyft in Las Vegas?" The answer is "yes." You not only need to obtain a business license from the state of Nevada, but now you also have to obtain a business license from Clark County as well. In the future it is possible that this could reach the city level, where you would also have to get a business license from the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Henderson, NV.
To get your business license from the state of Nevada you go to nvsilverflume.gov/home to go through the process. As of the making of this video, the cost of a Nevada business license for a sole proprietor is $200 and for an LLC it is $500.
In order to get your business license from Clark County you must go to their downtown location at 500 S Grand Central Pkwy # 3, Las Vegas, NV 89155. When you go into the office be sure you tell the staff that you are there to obtain your business license to drive for Uber and Lyft. You will have a form to fill out, and you will pay $25 for the license. You are now required to have both of these licenses to be a driver for Uber and Lyft in Las Vegas.

On top of the business licensing are you required to obtain commercial insurance? Or is there a way around all that Is it lucrative enough to cover all this?

I appreciate your info., and I''m gonna buy your ebook. I had been driving for Uber since the beginning, and you're the first to inform me of the Clark county requirement. I'm terrified that Clark County is going to send me a huge fine for my ignorance. And I'm pissed that Uber never sent me an update to the requirements. I find Uber so irresponsible in so many respects that I'm probably going to quit just based on principle. It's my only way to protest them. They need a better Q&A on their website so we don't have to go to their office and wait in line for simple questions (they should just post).
