HISTORY goes to the ends of the earth to find where our world began. Forged from fire and ice, formed by floods, volcanoes, asteroids and earthquakes, our planet tells a dynamic geological story. What are mega-tsunamis? What happens when you have millions of years of rain? Visual effects, location filming and stunning aerial photography bring viewers back 4.5 billion years to enjoy a unique window on our world. How the Earth Was Made peels back time like layers of rock to reveal the origins of the place we call home.

I show this in my earth science class every single year. One of my favorites

Notice how they didn't make a submersible made of carbon fiber

The real truth is the only thing that's consistent is change. Everything in nature is always changing.

"Self portrait" = selfie lol And spoiler alert, James Cameron went to the trench in 2015
  • @geechii333
I almost thought he said “we took a selfie” but he actually said “ we took a self portrait “ lmao wow how times have changed

There's a trench in the Bermuda triangle that is only a few hundred feet shallower than the Marianas trench 😮 😮 😮

I read these flat-earth adjacent comments in the chat and it just makes me depressed. We r heading back to the dark ages where myth n legend and “personal truths” r holding sway over logic, reason, scientific investigation, and provable facts. Just so disappointing.

I find it fascinating that 1 - Sonar was created to find enemy subs, now used to map ocean floors, 2 - Radar was created to spot enemy planes, now used to monitor weather and 3 seismometers were created to pick up atomic bomb testing, now used to monitor earthquakes

So did they let out 5 miles of rope to measure the depth? That would be quite incredible!
  • @MadDragon75
The reversal is universal. The sun also has magnetic poles that flip.
  • @essicc
I’m so baked I thought the title meant the trench made the earth
  • @SewTexas
    Interesting, nice to understand
  • To think that in the 80s, all of this info was left out in our science class.
