3D Land’s forgettability ironically adds charm to its identity for me. Every time I return to it I’m shocked by how much simple fun it is, only to get mindwiped 2 months later and repeat the process every couple years

The fact that this was labeled as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury 💀
  • @CZsWorld
    It's a game with a 2D Mario design philosophy, but in 3D.

"Kids these days will never know what it's like to jump into a cannon, and just pray." And I thought yes exactly.

That this video is shown as Mario 3D world by the automatic YouTube games part says a lot about

3D Land was the first game I played on a 3DS at my friend's house, and I specifically remember level 1-3. That part where you fall downwards between clouds blew my mind. Then I played Ocarina of Time 3D and the Deku Tree's ambience made me forget all about 3D Land lol. Most of my memories with this game are in the car on roadtrips, and it's really perfect for that. It's somewhat "forgettable," but still genuinely fun at the same time and I have nothing but fond memories with this game

If Nintendo ever makes a VR headset (better than Virtual Boy or Labo) they could bring this one back

OHH I love 3D Land!! It was one of my favourite games to play on my 3DS as a kid, and it was also the first and only Mario game I've ever (physically) had. So, it's music has pretty much been the only 'Mario music' I know and can instantly recognise. I'm surprised but glad that 3D Land is getting some talk instead of World whenever I would hear it. Good game :D

omg in the beginging when you said 3D Mario, let me tell you 3D Mario land was the ONLY thing I was thinking of. THAT 3DS GAME WAS LITERALLY MY CHILDHOOD. I loved it so much, it was the first and only Mario game I have ever completed on my own and it's one of my favourite and most nostolgic video game I've ever played since :))))

People have forgotten about 3D land?! This game was a huge part of my childhood, it was the first 3DS game I've ever played!
  • @1ROCKET-
3D Land was my first ever 3D Mario game and the introduction of my favorite power-up the Tanooki leaf, I never have forgotten about this game

My favourite element of 3D Land is the quite creative and intricate level design, as well as some of the new enemies. People would genuinely be shocked just how good 3D Land is, but seemingly everyone forgot about it in favour of 3D World. It gave us a lot of things that 3D World would later copy (Pom Pom, Stingbee, Boomerang Flower, etc.), so I don't know why 3D Land doesn't get the love it deserves.
  • I think this, alongside 3D World are the most unusual of the 3D Mario games because, unlike the rest, they are literally 3D equivalents to the 2D Mario games

Well, you're not wrong; I rarely see anybody talk about Super Mario 3D Land outside of it being the predecessor to Super Mario 3D World. While not my favorite 3D Mario, I still had a good time with it, and it's nice to see it get a little more love here.

as soon as i read the title i knew what it was, this was actually my only interaction with mario for a while
  • @ct24-ho4pm
10:07 i can't be the only one that instantly knew what world it was just from the music
  • @poppyfrancis7338
3D land itself isn't forgettable, its just that everything anyone would have wanted out of 3D land is already present in 3D world and honestly that makes Land feeling even more like a 2D Mario game with 3D levels than 3D World does more charming in its own way to me
  • @BakenBeans
I played this game so much when I was younger… I would get all the stars on levels and then come back to speed run them, beating the times of my siblings’ save files.
  • @SGT_Squid_Dog
I remember this game because of a halloween party I went to with family from over seas. I spent days with my cousin trying to help him get max stars on his save by replaying 1-2 while we talked about random things and ate Heath bars. One of the best holidays I have ever had, better than most Christmases and birthdays I've had.
