  • When you really think about it, waternoose and Randall are essentially a "child friendly" way of showing children what child trafficking is. While they were essentially planning to use the kids as batteries rather than the much nastier stuff thaf goes on in the real world, the basic idea of kidnapping young children and treating them like property is still very much there.

In the show monsters at work , it was also revealed that Waternoose banished the adorable/abominable snowman after he found plans for the scream extractor

What about when Hardscrabble kicked Mike and Sully out of the Scare Program after they broke her scream can? It was just an accident. Then she gave them scenarios herself instead of letting them take the exam, and she didn't even let Mike give a demonstration in his scenario. They should have been allowed to be tested properly, but instead of giving them a fair chance, she made excuses to kick them out because she was mad. A case could be made whether or not she had the right to do that, Dean or not.

I think Waternoose most likely did get all these charges since he was arrested at the end of the movie. Randal escaped jailtime because he was banished to the human world in a swamp, becoming a new cryptid like Big Foot and Lochness Monster. in Kingdom Hearts 3, it is shown Randal is still trapped in that swamp to this day, but he does return to the monster world for a small period of time. so, I guess I shouldn't say he escaped jailtime because he's trapped in another world with no way to return. an alternate punishment.

At 6:55 you could also consider he was trying to get rid of them because they knew his part in the plans

Something tells me you'll have to update Johnny's crimes at asome point with the Monsters at Work series.
  • The difference between Randal, Waternoose, and Johnny is amazing. Randal got got 8 life, 17 years, and $2000 for nine charges(yes, I'm including subscribing to the channel as a crime as it's on the list). Watternoose got 6 life and 11.5 years for 6 charges. Ans Johnny got 2 months, $5000, and a restraining order for 2 charges. And the Dean Hardscrabble who is truly lawful.
  • 8:28 I don't remember Jameson facing this charge in Spider Man: No Way Home, he was still slandering Spider Man even after the charges against him for Mysterio's murder were lifted!!!

John Goodman recommended Steve Buschemi for the part of Randall. True story and top casting.
  • While Dean Hardscrabble did have good intentions, there would’ve been a chance of committing the monster equivalent of “manslaughter,” had Mike and Sulley been caught by the humans or worse. And by the way, I said “chance.” I didn’t say she did commit monster version of manslaughter, which means my argument wouldn’t really change anything.

2:31 seriously though this scene is actually kinda terrifying. She's only 2 years old, she's been kidnapped by a bunch of monsters and she's about to have her literal screams sucked out.
  • To add a bit, in Kingdom Hearts Randalls returns to Monstropolis thanks to Vanitas (Og game character) and conspires with him to use creatures call unversed to take over Monster Inc, as well as creating weaponry to delay Sully Mike and the game protag trio He also helps create Lump of Horror, a dangerous creature made of scream energy and machinery to attack Sully and co. Which to me seems like conspiracy and manufacture of dangerous weapons (and maybe bioweapons, since Lump of Horror is by all accounts a living being, similar to other unversed)
  • @anwenlokier2292
8:38 that was added to in my school vr game in the form of Operation Daybreaker (the elimination of the Dark Triadian, which is a Heartless Triadian and he committed Murder in the first degree and Obstruction of Justice and the Operation was spearheaded by Sofia the first)
  • Was wondering if you would actually find anything on hardscrabble, since like you said, nothing ahe did was outside her power as the school dean, even locking mike and sully in the human world since keeping it open in an unsecured lab could let humans in and would be illegal in there world
  • @jerichogarry
That camper place Randall was banished appears to be the same one from Bug's Life.
