My biggest problem with the movie is that they made Cady so boring and without a personality. Like girly be an actual person.

I'm convinced they did this movie only to have an official version of renee Rapp singing the songs
  • What heavily agitated me was the "moral" of this whole thing. The OG wasnt shy about saying that girls were mean. They can be cruel, catty, and calculating and have the ability to destroy you. The remake is just "Oh girls are amazing! They never do anything wrong on purpose! Its because of men pitting us against eachother!" When thats not even it!

In this movie Regina is like the book description of a bully but OG Regina was a real life bully, I've met to many Regina's in my time
  • As nitpicky as it may sound, the fashion was one of my biggest issues with this film. The original mean girls film had so much thought and attention to detail put into each outfit and how they subtly reflected each character’s personalities. In the new mean girls it seems like they just recycled wardrobes from 2012 Disney Channel shows.

Love how Africa is ‘represented’ as a bare land where you have to live in a tent 😭

This movie is basically there to make you go: 'Huh, I should watch the original Mean Girls movie again, it's been a while.'
  • Okay here’s a hot take- Renee did not play Regina well. Idk if it's the problem with the writing or what but she literally displayed zero emotions and the lines were delivered so flat. Plus the OG Regina is mean in a sneaky way while being nice to your face. Which makes sense why she’s popular. It’s realistic. Why would anyone wanna be friends with Renee’s Regina, who is just outright mean to everyone?

"We have mean girls at home" completely summed this movie up

Remember kids, when there's a remake of a movie, always have your expectations low.
  • @Ekami-chan
"she doesn't even go here!" In the original, it was yelled from the back of the room/shot, but in the remake it's right on center, that's why it looks so "look we did it" and unorganic...I did chuckle at the "she sings well...but she doesn't go here y'all", better delivery. :D
  • It sounds like all the actors are reading a script. The movie has no “soul”
  • @HobbCap
"That's not mean girls that's mad women"
  • @wintig24
I saw this in the theater and I felt SCAMMED. When they said they were adding the Broadway songs, I thought they would be in a BROADWAY STYLE. But they changed the whole damn thing! They took out all the good songs and changed a ton of lyrics.

"This is not your mother's mean girls." And suddenly, I wish it was.

the thing that annoys me is in the Original Karen was dumb but also acted like a normal fucking human..... In the remake her character Acts like she should be on Medication
  • @marieooopy5108
Also the fashion was really bad like they were literally wearing clothes from SHEIN as if the og mean girls would ever wear that
  • @rebekahlee9666
The thing that made Regina work in the original was how nice she could seem at times. She wasn't always obviously "evil" and there were hints she wasn't entirely a bad person at heart. By the end she's actually changed for the better. You liked her even if you didn't want to admit it, so it was clear why she got to the position of power she did in the school. This one just makes her too much of a one-dimensional villain who's about as subtle in her behavior as Snidely Whiplash.

what the hell does Hollywood have against families?? Why did they need to make Cady's mom a single parent???
