Post Suicide Squad launch: perhaps we treated Gotham Knights too harshly

Currently playing this game with my little brother. We take turns switching characters every night; He plays as Robin and I play as Red Hood. The flaws are so abundant in this game but I can’t deny the fun I have too while playing.

One thing I always loved about this game is that not only the BEAUTIFULLY animated takedowns for each character, but also how the dialogue changes in cutscenes depending on which character you’re playing as.

I actually enjoyed Gotham Knights and never understood the hate…that is until I went back and played Arkham Knight and realized how much fun and visually stunning it is. Gotham Knights is still a fun game to play though, just odd cause I’m sure we all expected something good as the Batman’s games or even better

I bought it yesterday. I've already been playing for about 20 hrs, going at my speed and I love the game. It's much better with co-op but I'm loving the whole concept of the crimes and collecting evidence. I HATE the bomb missions because they're so tricky 😂 but they're still fun

Not gonna lie, I did have a good amount of fun with this game. The gameplay was smooth and the hits felt weighty and hard. I liked that each playable character had their own unique abilities and little arc. The story kind of fell flat, but overall it was a fun game I’d give it a 7/10

I still enjoyed the game for what it was.

I played this a few months back. The worst part for me was how it felt like the boss fights were all the same. We’ve seen these villains in too many other games and other media to tolerate something where their unique abilities don’t lead to different gameplay.

After that suicide squad game. Perhaps i was too harsh to GK

I'm playing this game with my teen sister and she's loving playing as Robin. The only thing that I didn't really like is that I kinda leveled up too much and got too strong at around halfway throughthe game, so I'm doing sidequests and main quests aimed at levels 9-15... While I'm level 30. But that was kinda my fault, I was having fun solving crimes and fighting with each character. I will probably have a better experience on New Game Plus. Btw, I'm using a dub in a different language (Brazilian Portuguese), and I feel they did an excellent job. I tried playing it with the English dub, which I usually prefer, but I didn't really like it.

I enjoyed Gotham Knights, played through it 3 times. Love Barb, the map is amazing, the thugs suck tho and are in no way shape or form intimidating but the story ain’t bad, it may be 30fps but the combat and stuff isn’t bad and it’s very well detailed. It’s second to Arkham Origins as the most underrated superhero games.

I've enjoyed playing through this with a friend. I haven't played it to the end but stopping street crimes is always a great time, and the Court of Owls is always a cool plot. I think we will realize how good we had it when we're playing the new Suicide Squad game... 😅

After seeing SSKTJL this game looks like a masterpiece......

After actually playing Gotham Knights due to it coming to Game pass, I truly do not understand the hate. I feel like the hate just came from the fact that it wasn't up to par compared to the Arkham series. But honestly at this point I feel like comparing games to the Arkham series is just unrealistic. All of the Arkham games were and still are some of the best games ever made. It's hard to stack up to them.

You know, Suicide Squad's gameplay could've been forgiven if WB proved that they could manage a game like this. But they clearly do not with how Gotham Knights turned out. And with the generally negative impressions & most of Rocksteady's already jumping ship, Suicide Squad's failure seems inevitable.

I still really like this game

It's crazy how little they cared at some points like I remember I started a mission as Robin and when he dropped into the fight he said "hi guys, my name is Robin"

I think we all own gotham knights an apology after suicide squad got released

comparing this game to suicide squad now, I think that gotham knights would;ve been such a better experience if it went live service now. they should've made this game part of the arkham verse instead of suicide squad
