So many YouTubers have stopped making content on Tears of the Kingdom, especially regarding lore, so I'm incredibly happy that we continue to get theories and lore about the game from you. Your thoughts and theories are always really cool and well explained.

What if Gorondia was where all the Gorons were during the events of SS, since we only saw a couple of them during that game. Then, after people from the sky resettled on the surface, Gorons began to return to the over world as well. Then it's possible that Ganondorf's attack on the Goron settlement disabled their means to return underground, so they built a new home on and around Death Mountain.
  • This is something I really love about TotK - the thought of being somewhere no one has been for thousands upon thousands of years feels hard to comprehend.
  • I think that the Fire Temple became Goron City after Ocarina of Time, hence becoming a huge mining operation. Would have been nice to find the entrance Darnuia used to use to connect to the first Goron City to Death Mountain, maybe even finding a way through it and ending up somehow finding some teleportation magic to send you to the Lost Woods since it was also connected to Goron City through its tunnels.

Oh. My. God. I just finished my laundry and sat down to crochet some flowers. I swear it’s a curse that I get here so early EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. ❤🎉😵‍💫

I want to add the possibility of a volcanic eruption destroying most of this underground goron settlement surrounding the main lava pit, for me that's why see the temple part in a much recognizable state than the little houses, since the temple is further away from where the eruption might have occured.

As someone who's actually a fan of the dungeons in this game, watching videos about the lore of their original purpose is truly fascinating. It makes me see them from a more complex point of view. While it's true that they may not be as complex as other dungeons from previous games to some people, I found that the Lost Gorondia is an exception to this along with the Mural's Myth and Construct Factory. It is a complex system of elevators, tracks, and switches that culminate into a solid dungeon experience if you don't cheese everything by using the paraglider. I remember it taking me forever to figure out how to hit the gong behind a gate. It ended up being the last gong I activated in the dungeon since I didn't know what to do. Scaling the dungeon with the minecarts instead of cheesing it with the ascend ability and paraglider was really rewarding. In fact, doing all the dungeons in TOTK is pretty satisfying when you try and use ascend and the paraglider as little as possible and only when you feel it's necessary to do so.

I'm so glad that this was uploaded while I'm bored at work. 6 hours done, 6 hours 30 minutes left.
  • I finally finished the game (not 100%, but full battery, all shrines, light roots, memories, Zelda sightings, caves, sage's wills, 4 shield slots away from max inventory, and all story quests), and now I can finally watch these videos without fear of spoilers.

That’s one of the many beauties of BOTW and TOTK, there is so much that can be theorised about. The depths have many interesting locations shrouded in mystery and it’s hard to tell when they would have abandoned?
  • @linkzelda9734
It's good to see some amount of lore in Totk. It never crossed my mind that the depths Fire temple could actually be a foundation of Goron city in the past, Which also gives more credence that the depths could be the origin of Hyrule .
  • @rorysearle5013
I’d say the Goron’s are legend of Zelda’s version of dwarves, heigh ho… uh, i mean Goro Goro.
  • @samuxan
I think the connection between the depths and the surface was sealed off after the war in the pass and this settlement had to be abandoned just like the zonai mines. a bigger tragedy for the gorons if most of them still lived underground in the area
  • @jessicalin1991
I always thought that the fire temple in Totk was a slight callback to skyward swords fire temple but it got covered somehow because that temple also had lava flowing through and around it
  • I think it's also mentioned in the game, unless I'm mistaken, than Gorontia was also known as the birthplace of the Gorons. Which suggests that, at a certain point in Totk's history, the Gorons may have lived in the depths even before the arrival of the Zonai and the founding of the new Kingdom of Hyrule.
  • @prestonbyrd8443
The boss should also be considered. Each tribe had to seal the monsters sent by Ganon and subsequently abandon those areas. My theory is that the settlement was converted into an elaborate prison to protect the gorons and they purposefully let it fall into legend to protect their people and to keep the location secret from trespassers who could unintentionally unleash the beast within.
  • I'm glad you are keeping up with lore videos it seems the other zelda tubers have given up on it
  • @tranquil_fox
Thank you for continuing to make TotK content! I love this game! It’s so disheartening to see other Zeldatubers dismissing it…
  • @geo_dragon6008
Can I just say, with how many zelda youtubers dropping out on TOTK lore videos due to interest dropping significantly compare to BOTW, it's nice you're one of the only ones keeping the flame lighting up for this game!
