I was out in the woods looking for a cellar hole, find a foundation but it was full of trash and junk so I started walking along the old rock wall. First signal on my Fisher F19 was ringing up between 83 and 90 which I was not sure if it was going to be good. Started digging and popped out a silver dime ! whoa that's good. then dug another and then couldn't believe what I saw had been thrown out of the dirt in between digging the other coins. A massive silver coin ! This is my first silver dollar find and it is from 1890 which is just fantastic. Amazing how the day can turn around with metal detecting and you really never know where or when your going to find something fantastic. We don't see too many coin spills out in the woods never mind old ones at old places with silver coins in them. I will never forget this day.

The silver dollar is an Awesome find! I've been relic hunting for almost 40 years & have never found one, 1/2 dollars yes, special find out in the woods, that's one you'll always remember, WTG, Congrats on that Charlie!

Thanks! I just wanted to thank you again for getting me into this wonderful hobby. I lucked out with an eight silver coin spell last year just dimes in quarters. But 2 weeks ago I door knocked at 1780's house.And my buddy dug up a 1776. 2 real last week. I never had so much fun doing a hobby before.

It's Crazy how detecting is. Charlie Congrats on the Silver 1890 Morgan Dollar and the Mercury and Rosie Dimes. So cool you found your first Silver Dollar. It's a great Feeling. I live in a small mining town in Nevada. I've been so fortunate to have found 9 Morgan Dollars and 3 Peace Dollars. Last year I found my first 1882 5 Dollar Gold Coin.
