I've had this song on the backburner for an eternity.
We recently held our latest GaMetal Discord Request Battle (discord link below!), which was themed "NES's Revenge", inspired by the NES Medley's extremely low vote count from the recent community polls where I asked you all which old console medleys you'd like to see return.
For that battle, GaMetal Discorders were able to submit their most wanted NES songs in an initial qualifier round. The top 4 were then put into a mini tournament, facing off against each other until a winner was crowned.
Kraid came in at the #4 spot and managed to win the entire thing, beating out both Dr Wily's Castle (MM2) and Title Theme (Solstice).
I've based this arrangement mostly on the versions from Metroid: Zero Mission and SSB Melee, with a hint of the SSBU version (which is outstanding, but I didn't really want to just make a soundalike version of it).
Finally, I don't have to make the "it's another Metroid song that isn't Kraid" joke anymore.

After 13 years, it's finally here. There's an interesting mix of strong rhythm with some more "unsettling" moments that really shows that you're coming to face what was (back then) a very impressive boss.

This remix blows both Melee & Ultimate's versions of Kraid out of the water. It's nice to know that Bowser & Zelda slayed in the choir bits. I loved how the top & bottom left Jonnys do a wave. Yet another song to add to my GaMetal folder collection & my GaMetal YouTube playlist, too. I'm so glad I voted for Kraid on discord.

Heck yeah, more classic Metroid remixes! Kraid's Lair is just as iconic as the Brinstar theme or Ridley's theme, if you as me, and this sounds so epic, the intro legit gave me chills!

I remember imagining this song while scuba diving in a place called "the Blue Hole" (not very wide but quite deep) at night, and I was upside down and sinking as silt floated around me. It was surreal.

I still remember the chills the Melee remix gave me back in my childhood.

Absolutely outstanding, I completely forgot about that 'to be continued' from the old Brinstar remix but I do remember Kraid's Lair being featured in NES Medley #4 and I've wanted a full remix of it ever since. Love that it sounds like the Zero Mission & Melee versions, plus the Bowser/Zelda plush choir is entertaining!

Really good track! Also, I'm not sure how many people noticed it, but at the end you could hear the area transition/elevator theme very lightly playing as the last chord faded off. It was a really nice little detail.

THIS IS WAY TOO EPIC KRAID IS SO COOL!!!! I adore how grand in scale this feels, and the choirs from the Zero Mission version were beautiful, as well as the other elements taken from the Smash Bros arrangements of this track, it's just so perfect!
