Download Empires & Puzzles today! pixly.go2cloud.org/SH493 I’ve been waiting to make this video for the last 7 years. The time has finally come. It truly means a lot to be able to tell this story. Hope you all enjoy!

"This runner, was me" I cant describe how glad that line made me. After all that has been done on this channel, some self-acknowledgement is both overdue and beyond deserved.
  • @DJPebs522
Tyson's 8-second delay is one of the biggest mockeries for a speedrunner in any game. He just does his little dance in your face and you can't do anything about it.
  • @RileyChu916
I love that so much of the frustration with Tyson is from the 8 second delay he does. The idea of of losing a run to "He's just standing there! MENACINGLY!" is frustrating, but also quite funny.
  • @ImJeffRoe
1:06:09 “This runner, was me.” What a moment for SummoningSalt. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us!
  • @Pyronar
I think Salt really understates how amazing his achievement is. No one but him has held the record in almost EIGHT YEARS.
  • @thatoneguy8512
Best thing about this? Guy manages to tell about his own records for more than an hour without it feeling self-serving. Props, man!
  • @TOSkwar22
Not mentioned here is that Summoning Salt also holds the record on: Mr Sandman (individual fight) (by less than half a second) Another World Circuit (a special mode) (by more than 15 seconds) RTA (the real-time clock count of the full run) (by 2 seconds) 90 minute challenge (you have 90 minutes to compile the best possible times in all fights) (by just under 8 seconds) Blindfolded (by two goddamn minutes) Mike Tyson (individual fight) (by 5 goddamn seconds) He is also tied for first on a variety of other individual fights (for example, tied with 17 others on King Hippo).

This is like if a longtime ESPN show host busted out of his formal suit, threw on shoulderpads, and scored 8 frame-perfect touchdowns to win the Super Bowl.
  • @ericpeterson6520
Gotta love when Summoning Salt talks about Punch Out and gets to go into first person for once
  • @Katharoni
I love the dichotomy between how gentle Salt's voice is vs his totally understandable gamer rage
  • @MsCerealCat
It actually made me emotional hearing about how Sinister and Zallard were in Salt's chat cheering him on and helping him calm his mind before Tyson. And the way they congratulated him at the end, just a heartwarming moment.
  • I genuinely think the introduction of matt turk in this video is hands down the best moment in all of your videos. Changing my view of him from the final boss of Punch Out to an ancient hero of legend.
  • @zylo4029
Sinister and Zallard cheering you on and calming your nerves while watching their own times get beaten is a beautiful moment, really embodies the “We’re rivals, not enemies” mentality that the best speedrunning communities have. Props to them for being awesome
  • @ksad96
Holy hell, Zallard1 and Sinister1 being in the chat as you made it to Tyson was like having Doc literally pep talking you before the fight. This is a phenomenal video that is so many years in the making and incredibly deserved, congratulations Salt!

Around 4 years ago, I underwent brain surgery and was stuck in the hospital for over a month. After leaving, I couldnt really do any activities since the surgery left me unable to physically move for a while. DK64 had always been my favorite N64 game, so I decided to search for "DK64 speedrun" since longplays of the game were over 8 hours and came across your DK video. I was immediately hooked and ended up watching the rest of your videos that day. The videos motivated me to start running for myself and so I started with Limbo, pretty simple game. I tried for a couple of weeks and on one of my runs I got a PB which was in the top 10 spots (unrecorded just like Billy Mitchell). I was so proud of myself and told my parents and loved-ones about it and coming from a country in latin-america, they didnt really approve or show interest. It really hurts when someone that you love doesnt support you. I had loss the little motivation that I had left and stopped running. And even though I dont run anymore, I still watch every single one of your videos and I was so proud once I knew that you got a WR yourself. For some reason I thought you only did the commentary. Some of these moments warm my heart and get me a bit emotional, just like the moment Simply got WR and told his parents. I thank you for helping me out during tough times. Hope youre doing well and I'll be waiting for your next video. Hope this message gets to you my man. So proud.
  • @Sinister1
This was such a beautiful and inspiring video it almost makes me want to get back on the MTPO grind...almost.
  • summoning has held the record since 2016 never boasted about it had this amazing speedrunner historian career we all know never tooted his own horn on one of the hardest games ever made bro, thank you.
