I started reading Robin Hobb because of you 3 years ago. It changed my life. Ive read them very slowly because I knew from pretty early on that this series is something else. I am on the final book, havent yet started because I know I am going to grieve the ending of this series for a long time…. But thank you. Thank you for recommending Robin Hobb. Its one reason that makes life worth living for me. Thank you thank you thank you.

The thing about Ruby Red is that it was written in German... The translation just doesn't do it justice, it takes away from the story. So, I understand why you didn't like it. But if you ask any 25-year-old, this was THE YA series to read in Germany when we were in middle school! It's so popular that they made all three books into movies!

As a new convert to fantasy, I appreciate this video so much for all the information. Even more though I have to say I am so impressed at your recall of 100 series!!! And being able to rank them!!!
  • @lilysolomon6078
Your videos have truly gotten my back into fantasy in a big way!! I would love if you'd make a video about your favorite heist fantasies, one of the best tropes!
  • Yeah! This is the video I have been looking for. I have just read my very first Fantasy, "Fate Inked in Blood" and was so surprised how much I loved the genre. Your talking about completed series will help me decide which rabbit hole to venture down. Thanks so much! Elizabeth

I just recently found your channel while looking for Legends of the First Empire content and my TBR has already doubled 😂 Great video!!

THANK YOU FOR THE LENGTH OF THIS VIDEO. Are you kidding, this was awesome. I’m gonna rewatch to see if I missed any recommendations
  • @ReadingNymph
So many series! Love ranking these and seeing how it changes over time

You’re officially my favourite book YouTuber. I really appreciate your honesty and critical thinking ❤
  • @KristiPinkman
I watched this video this morning and I immediately saved some of your all time faves on my tbr. and then this afternoon I stumbled into my local bookstore when I was on my afternoon walk and ended up buying 'city of brass', which is one of the books that peaked my interest. they have a very limited English collection so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it on the shelf. So it felt like fate so I had to get it haha
  • Omg, you look stunning in every video, but you are literally glowing here!
  • @krillias
I read the Lumatere Chronicles/Finnikin of the Rock series AGES ago because of your recommendation and I loved it!! The second book is my favorite because of the journey Froi goes on. I really think it's quite mature and has more substance than a lot of the YA fantasy I've read (and I've read a lot haha). More people need to be reading and talking about that series!

This is exactly why I follow you. I trust your reviews of books. I thought I was going crazy when I would ready "popular" books and then couldn't even finish them because they were so bland and predictable. You were the reason I first started reading RJB and now I'm obsessed. I can safely read whatever you recommend and know I'm about to get into some seriously amazing writing. FYI, Katherine Arden's new standalone just came out and it's chef's kiss
  • I am so impressed by your fast decision making of how to rank all of these series! I could not. 😅
  • @kayleep.2458
As someone who is reading TOG series for the 1st time rn... i can confirm, im in the middle of the series & its kind of hard for me to get back to it every night where as the first couple books i was reading so fast. But im still intrigued enough to not DNF it
  • @reneenospam
You’re probably already on your Japan trip. Hope you’re having a wonderful time! I would add to your list The Nsibidi Scripts series (Akata Witch, Warrior and Woman) by Nnedi Okorafor. I’d rank them all as GREAT! Tor has released two of her earlier books, Shadow Speaker and Like Thunder. I enjoyed the first and just getting into the second. You can definitely tell they’re earlier works, but it’s nice to see how her imagination has always worked.
  • @astoldbykat
Well, you've just added some new fantasy books/authors to my TBR. You don't mention them here, but if you've never read any of the books by Tamora Pierce, I can HIGHLY recommend them. I started reading them in 5th grade (almost 24 years ago, yeesh...) and I still re-read them every year. I firmly believe they hold up to this day. My favorite of her series is the two quartets and the standalones in the Circle of Magic series, but I love everything she writes.
  • I would love to know what other heist stories you recommend!!! That’s one of the reasons I absolutely loved six of crows when it first came out because I was like a HEIST?!? I hadn’t read one in a fantasy book before!
