He's not dead. He's just running down a Dream.

I met Tom Petty when I was a kid. My dad told me to go say hi to him when he recognized him at a gas station, and that he was the guy who sung this song. I told him I liked his singing. I still remember how big his smile was. I couldn't have been more than 7. Man just seemed like a normal, chill, good guy. RIP Tom.

My grandpa worked in construction many years ago. He worked on Tom Petty's house in Malibu, and this was his favorite song.

Ah, the days of playing GTA San Andreas, flying in a Hydra or a Rustler, over the desert skies of Las Venturas with a 6 star wanted level, dog fighting with the military trying to blow you out of the sky with this song playing on K-DST in the background…. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Tom Petty and Rockstar have created some wonderful memories for us.

RIP Tom Petty. Five years ago today, the world lost one its best singer/song writers. He may be gone, but his music will continue to live on.

This was the 1st artist I chose to like as a kid. No influence from my older brothers... The 1st artist of my own... I love you Tom.

That guitar solo should enter UNESCO-s list of intangible cultural heritage.

If the police can't stop you... You must be on... THE DUST

We lost a legend here! RIP Tom Petty!
  • Still,...the most under-rated guitar solo, in the history of modern rock music.

All you younger people that are discovering what great music is......we older folks grew up on this

When my 26 year old son was 6, this was his jam! "Play the running down a dream song, Mom." As we drove down on old dirt road, windows down, volume up, sun through the glass, wind in our hair.... Best times ever.
  • I played this non stop when I did Route 66 8 years ago! As an Englishman, it was like staring in my own movie! Amazing song
  • I just wanted to say thank you Mr. Tom Petty for making life more awesome with your wonderful music. May God bless you and your family too. #riptompetty
