Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (“Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”). The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”) and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) and Patrick Aison (“Prey”), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and the producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr., p.g.a. (“The Maze Runner”), Rick Jaffa, p.g.a., Amanda Silver, p.g.a., Jason Reed, p.g.a. (“Mulan”), with Peter Chernin (the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy) and Jenno Topping (“Ford v. Ferrari”) serving as executive producers.

  • The anticipation for this movie is giving me major nostalgia vibes from my childhood. Can't wait to see it!
  • "Together we are strong" is such a cool callback to Caesar in the original.
  • I'm mind blown at how a movie about talking apes can be so captivating. The power of good characterization and good storytelling.
  • This is what happens when a studio gets a good amount of time and a good budget cuz this looks amazing

0:46 0:59 I love how Ceasar's window symbol has transformed into a spark.
  • I'm 53 and was obsessed with the original franchise in the 70s as a kid. I'm glad I lived to see it be rebooted. These movies are amazing and it may be the best franchise ever created.

I just hope, we as fans, get to see the franchise come full circle and it ends (or starts a new trilogy) with a remake of the 1968 movie.

    Please give us that!

I'm not gonna lie, Proximus is already shaping up to be one of the best villains in a franchise where they're consistently good.

You have to love how loyal the fan base is to this franchise, and the effort and care dedicated to this franchise.
  • This series since its reboot has been consistently one of my favorites! The writing is incredible, the landscapes are incredible, the action is very strong… I’m super excited about this one!
  • I haven't felt this much anticipation since I was a kid counting down the days until a new movie release. It's like rediscovering that youthful excitement all over again!

1:20 the wise orangutan's voice is so on point. I feel like an ancient Greek or Roman scholar/Philosopher is there. The entire movie is has the best voice lines. They must have hired some many great voice actors.
  • Proximus is one freaky looking mutha.. But I love it! Planet of the Apes character development is always on point
  • @Kevinschart
If they can continue to pull this off this may become the greatest series if movies weve ever seen
