yes yes "love is embarrassng" got muted, sorry yall. I'm working on a way to get it back so hopefully it'l be there in the next few day. apologies!
  • @Lysscenes
seeing a teenage girl completely change the trajectory of this mans life is so important to me
  • @amywilliams4265
I love how she names the sweet songs “the grudge” and then the rock songs “ballad of a homeschooled girl”. Throws you off so well

Sour and Guts really capture the experience of being a teenage girl. Sour is younger, immature teenager, when you feel like the world is out to get you and it’s more self centred realisation. Guts is the older teenage years, reaching your twenties and looking at the big scary outside world and reflecting on the experiences you’re going to have in it, less self centred more big picture.

fun fact: olivia took a writing class and wrote lacy as a poem for the class and then turned it into a song :))
  • @laurenlvjy
i love the connection between "I care, I care, I care" "you lied, you lied, you lied" and "I've tried, I've tried, I've tried"
  • @TimeBucks
Funny to see him just silently dancing
  • @vaybedumb
the fact that her dad's a therapist and that's why she said "maybe i could fix him" 😭😭
  • @magicmicah05
Olivia basically bottled up everybody in their late teens/early 20s feelings and put it into a masterpiece of an album. She's got an incredibly bright future in the industry!

I perceived “Lacey” as that feeling when you’re 17 and this girl at the edge of your friend circle is so beautiful and kind and smart—that you can’t help but hate her; she’s a mirror held up to all of your deepest insecurities. You don’t humanize her in anyway. She’s on a pedestal. You never get to know her so she stays this graceful, endearing angel and you’re not even sure why the sight of her floating down the stairs enrages you. It’s completely irrational and has you questioning if you’ve ever truly been a good person to begin with. 😮‍💨

28:59 Damn, "Love is Embarassing" is a bop. That sweet sweet copyright silence accompanied by Troy's random bouncing up and down.
  • It’s really cool and so poetic to me how the opening track of Sour, Brutal, asks “where’s my f*cking teenage dream?” And Guts ends with the song “Teenage Dream.”

the way olivia can make a 28-year-old man feel the same emotions as a teenage girl is truly wonderful
  • @Editswlivv
“To be a teenage girl, when your a man, in his almost 30’s, I know how it feels!” -Troy.. quote of 2023
  • @theonlydyemond
I always found it strange that people heard Lacy and thought romantic vibes. I immediately heard envy. Maybe she’s so envious and obsessed but not in a romantic way. More like a she’s so perfect that I’m obsessed with her
  • @fatihhh2719
I love how Lacy is a poetic way of relaying the paradoxical feelings of envy leading to obsession. It was not how i initially thought it was supposed to go. Like many, i thought it was her confessing her love for lacy but by the end it was revealed how her jealousy turned into a fanatic hatred towards her. the writing in theis album is just chef's kiss
  • @trincameron
being 17 years old during the SOUR era and now 19 during the GUTS era, is a different level of pain
  • @hahahahahaha9026
"Can't take a joke, can't get you off" so painfully shows how it feels to be with someone who is just casually so upsettingly cruel and thinks it's funny, and gets mad at you for not wanting to be abused 💔
