To cure the zombie villager you have to first throw a splash potion of weakness at it, then right click it with a golden apple. You get discounted trades this way

I am guessing you already know this but how you cure a zombie villager is by splashing him with a potion of weakness and than feeding him a golden apple, don't drop the apple though just feed him like you feed other mobs

Actually, golden apples do cure them, but you must throw a splash potion of weakness on them first then use the apple on the villager as if your placing a block
