This is the intro melody, played on a harp with some cello and bass. I wanted to make this since I kept listening to the original song over and over, and thought it might be interesting to hear it with new instruments and a bit slower tempo.

I always found Davy Jones and Tia Dalma to be the most interesting story in the movies.

Original composition by Hans Zimmer from the song Davy Jones featured in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man´s Chest.

So surprised to see how many people enjoyed this! I made this cover because that moment when Calypso touches Davys heart and turns him into a human again, really made a mark on me. Such a beautiful love story. I am considering making some more Pirates of the Caribbean inspired music. Let me know if you would like that! :) Also subscribe to not miss it in case you do. Thanks everybody! /B

Ten years, I devoted to the duty you charged me. Ten years, I looked after those who died at sea, and finally, when we could be together again, you weren't there. Why Weren't You There?

I would kill to have a movie made about Davy Jones and Calypso and the heartbreak he felt. It would be so damn tragic and beautiful. Hell, I might even write a novel about it. Davy as a young man was bookish and quiet (his little awkward facial quirks and need to be imposing as an adult might suggest abuse at a young age) when at sea he is shipwrecked and he meets the sea goddess Calypso and falls in love with her. Because of his undying devotion she dreams up a plan to use him for the job of ferrying souls that die at sea. She seduces and charms him to the very end until she betrays him by not waiting after the 10 years are up. The book could deal with the mental turmoil of losing his love, losing his heart, losing his life to becoming a monster, and losing himself to his rage. What say you?

“Life is cruel. Why should the afterlife be any different?!”

By far one of the greatest complex characters ever created a tragic love story with a tune to make one cry.

The funny thing is... He claims himself heartless, yet it requires a heart to feel rage, misery, and sorrow. He’s not heartless... He’s a heart waiting to be put back together again.

When I was younger, I tough that Jones was the bad guy and Calypso a poor victim.... Now I learned how Jones felt for Calypso and the pain that tortured him.... He's my favorite POTC's character, because he's so human, even when he was turned into this scary form. But I feel sorry for Calypso too ! I love this couple <3

It's 2021. I feel like I lost my balance and my faith for everything. I don't know what to do with my life. Well, there isn't lots of things I can do at home. But you know. I started to feel anxiety, depression, fear and all the other things. I lost my grandpa because of the virus and canser in 2020. Like eveyone it was my worst year. But nothing chanced so far. I mean I feel lost. So that is the reason I'm listening this song. Potc always makes me feel better. This serie has another effect for me that nothing else gives. Whenever I feel lost and anxious, I watch Potc. Every time it cheers me up and make me forget all the bad things happening in my life. They never actually gone but it feels good when you are dreaming that you are in the Black Pearl or Dutchman. Yeah that pretty much it. Not all but a little part of the feelings I have at the moment. Btw, I'd be very happy if you read this comment and answer to me to come and read it after a while. Stay safe guys and Take what you can, give nothing back.

I'm crying every time I hear this song because I know how much painfully Davy's life was And his theme is so wonderful, I love it
  • “cruel and cold like winds on the sea Will you ever return to me Hear my voice And sing with the tide My love will never die. Over waves and deep in the blue I will give up my heart for you Ten long years i’ll wait to go by My love never die. Come my love be one with the sea Rule with me for eternity Drown all dreams so mercilessly And leave their souls to me. Play the song you sang long ago And wherever the storm may blow You will find the key to my heart We’ll never be apart. Wild and strong you can’t be contained Never bound nor ever chained Wounds you caused will never mend and you will never end. Cruel and cold like winds in the sea Will you ever return to me Hear my voice sing with the tide Our love will never die.” Lyrics

this is not a theme it is a sound, a sound made by the heart of davy jones it expresses the love the desire and the feelings of the character. ...hats off to you HANS ZIMMER ...#SAVVY

I can't explain the love that I feel towards this character. Definitely one of my favorite movie so far. I would pay GOLD to see a movie about Davy Jones and Calypso, but I don't want ANY of the actors being different. I want Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, I want Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, I want Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann, I want Bill Nighy as Davy Jones, I want Geoffrey Rush as Hector Barbossa and Naomie Harris as Calypso. That's it.

many things you were davy jones, but never cruel 💔 Edit: This thread is soo FEELS <3

So..after all these years,im 25 atm. When i was a child Captain Jack sparrow was my favourite, when i was young and innocent. But now..after all the difficulties and pain ive been through..Davy Jones is my favourite, because he is close to me,i feel him. And finally i can understand that the "bad" villains aren't so villenous after all, they are just victims of life and hardship. And this is why now i love this character more, because here exists something deeper than heroes and funny scenes..here exists love, pain, and sacrifices. This is my favourite anti hero ever.
  • Davy Jones R.I.P You will always be remembered as one of the greatest pirates that ever sailed in the seven seas...
  • @npublicaciones
Easily one of the best characters in the entire series. If not the best. Only Hector can compete with him in my mind.
