WHAT HAPPENED To The 2012 NBA Draft?

Published 2023-12-29
With 4 all-nba players in the top 10, multiple all-stars in the 2nd round, and a TON of terrible decisions throughout… the 2012 NBA Draft has turned into one of the most interesting classes of the 2010s in the 10+ years since draft night… yet it seems to be get forgotten sometimes… you have the AMAZING 2011 class right before it and the DISASTER 2013 class right after it… but the 2012 NBA Draft has no shortage of crazy storylines to look back on as well.

  • Man, I remember John Henson was a BEAST in 2k, swatting every shot available 😭😭
  • Not complaining, but I love when he does a second take of a line and just leaves both in. It has me think I’m going crazy sometimes (5:30).
  • Growing up playing 2k13 for 5 years until I could buy my own games, I knew this draft class like the back of my head. It was funny because the game always had the code for Draymond, but once 2k shut down the servers, you couldn't access him unless you were so bad in your mycareer that you got drafted in the 2nd round.

I miss the days when Bradley Beal and John Wall were a duo. But in the end, the Wizards were unable to win the championship.

For a stretch in 2016-17 I thought Terrence Jones was gonna have a career resurgence with the pels
  • Im glad you did not disrespect Jeremy Lamb he a nba 2k legend and really just had low stamina and many injuries

It's painful to see any draft between 2012-2018 as a kings fan.

Man I really wish that blazers team could of stayed healthy they would of made a major push for the finals

I love looking at the player stats and their info, what site are you guys using to pull these profiles up?

That year was my inaugural season an a NBA fan. Ross, my favourite player in the draft, annoucned his retirement recently. 10 years went pretty fast 🤧
  • Drummond actually DID become an outstanding defender. He led he league in Defensive Win Shares twice, something only 17 men have ever done, and he also dragged Detroit basically single handedly to a top 12 defense for 4 years in a row. Most underappreciated defender of his era.

Some of these guys left the league so many years ago I forgot about em

These draft videos are my favorite good for refreshing my memory for hoop grids
  • An important missing context of the Sacramento Robinson pick is that they had just traded Carl Landry. Robinson and Carl Landry clearly had a lot of archetypal similarities as sub 6’9 rebounding 4s. Furthermore after getting rid of Robinson, they brought Landry back summer 2013, which in my view cements Robinson replacing Landry being their plan.
