Thank you so much for doing these videos. I bought a 50+ years old Yamaha upright about four years ago, and I HAD to learn how to tune it myself because there are no piano technicians in my city, it's already odd to find pianos here, so I really appreciate these videos. I'm very interested in learning so I can become a piano technician myself, and it's very encouraging to find quality content about it like yours ✨

Can I just point out that golden hour is playing in the bathroom

I’m a piano technician and yes this is one of many ways to fix this problem. Other ways are increasing key dip and adjusting your letoff sooner.
  • Accually having the finished piano sound playing from the start was a awesome twist and I like it alot.
  • So cool, I’m trying to learn the piano but your fixing it and playing it, amazing

These videos make me wish I had become a piano technician. I love pianos and music and it must be so rewarding to fix up pianos as a profession and make people happy by bringing music back into their lives!

I usually first check if there's slack in key pilots. If pilots are fine, then I check key dip which should generally be 10mm. I wouldn't change blow distance, except if doing more complete action regulation process.

The song you used in the background is so good 👍✌️

If you guys are wondering what is the background song, it’s called “Golden hour” by JVKE
  • Your videos are amazing. I love that you take the time to explain why a problem exists and how you fix it.

Thank you for the videos - We received a free upright piano that needed a little tuning and TLC. This is amazing. I love all the tips so my littles can play with me.

Man, I'm loving your videos! I have moved pianos for many years, and cleaned many, fixed little things, watching your videos is truly inspiring. 🎉

On one upright I had, an extra turn on the soft pedal wingnut achieved the same outcome.

Just like my music teacher says, 40 years is nothing for an instrument
