FIRST CLASS Singapore Airlines A380 Suites - Singapore to London (SIN - LHR) + The Private Room

Published 2024-05-24
I booked a flight in the A380 suites flying from Singapore to London (SQ308), departing at 09:00 (Singapore time) with a flight duration of approximately 14hrs 20mins.

Having flown economy once and business several times, I was so excited to fly on board Singapore Airlines Suites for the first time! My experience begins with my taxi driver pulling up to terminal 3’s dedicated entrance for first class passengers to check in. You can take a look at the full experience on YouTube at love flying and hotels! Check in took only 2 minutes! I was then invited to the Private Room which is only accessible to passengers travelling in first class or suites on board Singapore Airlines. FYI – for passengers travelling in first class on other Star Alliance carriers will not be granted access and will need to use the First Class lounge – the same applies to those holding top tier status on Star Alliance or Krisflyer. Even if you are travelling on Singapore Airlines in Business Class and are a top tier member, you will not be permitted access to the Private Room, nor can you take a guest (unless they are travelling in First Class on board Singapore Airlines.

The lounge is delightfully quiet which is great for relaxing or getting some work done. The staff are amazing! I met Selina, a Vietnamese staff member, who was so charming, friendly and positive! The lounge offers an a-la-carte menu and not a buffet, with a good selection of wines, champagne, spirits, teas, coffee, soft drinks and juices. There are a range of seating options from sofas to chairs with most seating offering charging options, some even have wireless charging! There are also day rooms and showers!

When boarding, I was escorted to my seat – 2A! Unfortunately, on this flight, both 1A and 2F were already taken so no one could utilise the double bed! You have to see the space when the double bed is made – it is like a luxurious hotel room 35,000 feet up in the sky!

The main crew members taking care of me were Sean and Linda. You will get to see them in the video! Linda was more amazing then I imagined – she really was! She was also very sweet and quite cute! Linda and I give a seat tour and then come the goodies! I started off with a glass of Krug champagne of course, I was given pyjamas and an amenity kit. The Suite design is stunning!

The food is flexi-dining aka dine on demand. 2 meals will be served on this flight as well as access to snacks. The snacks include the usual thins like nuts and crisps as well as more filling options like mushroom soup, wraps and so on! The food was excellent as was the 12-15 glasses of champagne I drunk!

The whole experience was a wow factor and the flight went by so quick! I could have easily stayed on board for another 14hrs! Linda was truly a star and she probably gets so many compliments but you’ll see what I mean when you watch the video.

Would I fly this again – absolutely! Would I recommend this – absolutely! On my next flight I will probably try the first class product on the 777, this is not the suites, for comparison. However, I am also conscious that the A380s will be phased out and so too may be these gorgeous suites! Whether Singapore Airlines replaces them with a newer and better product will remain to be seen. But as they are one of the best airlines in the world, always striving to improve, I wouldn’t put it past them!

Enjoy!

It is late at night here in Dallas, Texas and I was about to listen to some quiet music before going to bed and then I spotted your video on my feed. I am so glad I watched it. This video was pleasing in every manner. I love the way you went into detail about the various aspects of the beautiful Singapore Airlines Suite which was as thorough as any I have seen and your narrative was in perfect concert with the filming. Also, I was quite pleased that you included Linda and a few others from the crew in the video. The level of service you received from them was perfectly demonstrative of what a passenger can expect when flying Singapore First Class and I'm sure the airline must be quite pleased at how you successfully filmed and described all that occurred. Excellent video!

I've been away from Youtube for a while now, and I'm so glad to see you've made a good few videos since , so there's plenty for me to catch up on. You're by far the best travel vlogger out there!. Always a great, well paced and informative video. I like the "fun facts" as well, a nice bit of info. It's certainly the way to travel, absolute luxury and reminds me of the videos which show the "golden age" of flying when there would be waiter service and all the passengers were dressed in suits and posh dresses. Definitely a latto win experience for me!.
  • Thank you I am hoping to fulfil a bucket list item and retry SG 1st Class

Love Singapore suites. I found that service in business class is better, but, food in suites and private room is awesome.

I like your style of videos, very detailed and included your interactions with the crew. In my mind this may be topped by Etihad's 'the Apartment'. Curious to know if you'll try. Would be very very interesting!
  • Some reviews of the bed have said that it was hard and not as plush as it appears in pictures. What was your impression of the comfort of the bed itself? (Not the bedding). Planning to book the Suite product as part of a milestone birthday trip for myself! Great video!

As we have now learnt, definitely try to keep the seatbelts fastened even if the seatbelt signs are off and not walking! Might save yourself a trip to the hospital.
  • It's an Amazing Airline. Helpful, Consistent service and Feels Like home. However, I prefer the A350s, not A380s. SQ still my favourite A380 airline but SQ has Much more to Serve with A350s, From Shortest flights to Destinations like Kuala Lumpur to the World's longest non stop flights which is The New York route. I flew on SQ 423 from Mumbai on the A380 and then SQ 422 on the A350 to Mumbai last year in March and June Respectively!

I laughed when I heard you say you wished for another 14 hours. I've done the same thing - asking the crew to slow the plane down so I could enjoy more time in First Class. It never works. The only thing to do is start planning the next trip.

Can we sleep in the nap room during 2am-430am to go through the whole night?
