Aight so I've had this happen before. My brother and I are adopted. We're black, our parents are white and we lived in a white neighborhood. At one point a friend and I were Trick or Treating (she's a PoC too) and the white woman who opened her door to greet us asked what we were doing there. I said we were trick or treating and she instantly said, "I didn't know colored people lived here!" I didn't tell my mom for like a week after. She was horrified. It was just another day for me, and as incidents of racism go that I've experienced, it wasn't even that bad. I laugh about it now, but my parents don't find it funny
