It’s not the cat people who are genocidal maniacs, it’s the cats themselves 😼

"Lack of knowledge doesn't equate to malice" until it's found out they're being wilfully ignorant. 2 cents done; love the video!

I'm currently not diagnosed with autism, but I am diagnosed with ADHD and schizophrenia and I've had 15 psychologists, 7 case managers, and 5 psychiatrists within two years tell me I should go for an autism assessment because it was obvious to them. Just like the schizophrenia diagnosis, I didn't think I had enough evidence to qualify for the diagnosis until I learned about it and it's the same with autism. It now makes makes sense even developing psychosis so young. I was moving around a lot and will hopefully soon be assessed.

I've decided widgets are triangle shaped, but I'm open to reasonable debate on my conclusions.
  • Really good video topic - it absolutely bewilders me why some people try to invalidate relating to others and feeling seen, but I'm seeing it quite often. It almost gets a little bit "AllLivesMatter" at times, they may think they're being inclusive but by attempting to do so in a very blunt way they're just invalidating the original intent - they may as well have just run into a room, punched someone in the face, and yelled "I don't understand your issue and I don't care to try". Anyway. Loved your line that "lack of knowledge doesn't equate to malice" - I'll try to remember that and be patient when I see stuff like this. Also: "I demand to see your widgets" legit made me LOL - which doesn't happen all that often - thanks for brightening my day!

I love watching ND videos like this even after getting my combined audhd diagnosis. It just feels so affirmative of my life experiences and like I'm understanding myself so much better. I still have to explain most of these things to my parents bc they don't understand how I "can't just do it" when my expected tasks starts to pile up, or i'm late to a family dinner, or i'm upset bc there's not enough milk to my morning hot chocolate, or they had to buy a different brand of bread bc the ones I usually eat weren't in stock. It's everywhere throughout my life, and now i'm hyper aware of the anxiety and ptsd my early adult life has turned into. I really hope that I'll get the support I need to get through a "regular" adult life, but it's difficult when so many aspects are against you 💔

I've been diagnosed with bipolar since I was 16 and have heard SO many people, right in front of me, insulting someone by calling them bipolar when instead they're flaky, annoying, or reactive. Therefore equating bipolar disorder with something that is a poor character trait and lack of self-control, which has been devastating. At this point in my life I think it's a misdiagnosis, but I related enough to the experience at the time that it was so hurtful to hear the very real and agonizing struggles people with bipolar go through reduced to an insult.

I just found your channel and LOVE your videos. You explain concepts very clearly to understand. I hope you keep posting ❤

I love your explanations of the differences between neurotypical and neurodivers reasons of behavior. Thanx to "Woodshed Theory" I discovered your channel.

Excellent video, I think you are sharing some really good and important points in an accessible way. I'll try to remember the examples with going to the toilet 60 times a day or being pregnant.. and yeah, it's the cats that plan for world dominance as someone mentioned elsewhere :)

2:30 they are human traits but the reason why autistic people do the same thing I think is little bit or completely different 4:20 - 6:16 good points and comparison 👍 8:04 lets travel back to 1894 and prevent "being a normal person or thing" from existing

JENN! I literally attach important items to myself. Have a binky clip tether thingie for the TV remote so I don't repeatedly lose it in the bedding!

Someone once told me I fit in just fine, before I even knew what autism was, all I could think in my head was it's not about what you see it's about what I know. I now understand, that yeah masking me was great, but the reason I didn't fit in is because deep down I wanted someone to see me, the real me and like that person, because masked me is exhausting. Dropping that mask and letting them in? I wore the wrong coloured pants for that. I feel like I'm starting to wear the right coloured pants more and more each day. Oh, to save any confusion, in the UK pants are underwear, but I grew up in Australia and still call trousers pants. Don't ask me about English language I couldn't get past sending something by road is a shipment, but by sea it's cargo. Why isn't a butterfly called a flutterby it makes more sense dagnammit.
  • Hi Jenn You explained it so well. At 70 Autism was not even on my radar I just struggled. That is until my 3 year old grandson was diagnosed on the spectrum. So I researched it to death and realized it was me they were talking about. I always had the stereo typical idea of autism, never gave it a lot of thought till then. Now what? Starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together. You and your great community are an amazing source of help.:washhands: Going to the Toronto Autism Summit this month. More to learn for me and the little guy.

I was just about to hit subscribe, but mostly so I can easily come back to this library. The video take a brilliant look at the subject but sadly has less views than there are subscribers. Makes me wonder, did people expect 15 minutes non stop memes or are they so much subscribed that they are drowning in notifications?
  • @Electrowave
Thank you for making this video, I can show it to people who don't understand.
  • @duikmans
I think it's in the DNA of a meme that they are black and white... except for the ones that are pointing out that not everything is black and white. Ah, the intricacies of life on the interweb.
  • @Tilly850
Great video. I totally agree that it shouldn't be an obligation for us to educate the world. It's nice when someone does want to learn more...but. Yeah. That.
