  • “Probably Gary will be the only one left standing” that’s crazy to hear Billy say that. Last original member gone. What a sad story. Never stops being sad. Incredible. Unbelievably talented band. Allen doesn’t get nearly enough credit for how talented of a guitar player he actually was.

Will the circle be unbroken...."never"...R.I.P. Gary...🙏❤

The fact that Gary took the time to ask him how he got his start and what his first big gig was let’s you know how he is a caring person that is down to earth and humble and likes to get to know people
  • Gary was a cool cat. Salt of the Earth. Such an amazing, talented guitarist and songwriter —underrated.

The most loyal and dedicated fans of any entertainers. We don't "like" Skynyrd or even just love them. They are part of your life when you get ready to listen to music and you start off with Lynyrd Skynyrd that's as far as you get because once you start you just can't turn it off because there's just so many outstanding tunes to listen to or watch some of the live concerts. It's like a drug, once you start you can't stop, you're addicted for the rest of the day or night

Been listening and watching Skynyrd my entire life. Saw them in Atlanta at some little club back in the 70s. Loved their music the first time I heard them and nothing's changed except some of the members. Such unique music and lyrics that will live on forever

I am deeply saddened with the parting of the last original member of one of my favorite music bands EVER. My mother played Classical music to me in the womb back in ‘61. I like and appreciate the genius that is “Classical Music”, but my dear mother was saddened that it wasn’t my favorite. But the term Classic did make an impression………..Lynyrd Skynyrd is the “Classic” and the standard of Southern Rock. I saw this great band in ‘77 and swore I wouldn’t see them ever again. Now that’s true. Every time I play a tune I will be hearing a jam in Heaven. Lynyrd Skynyrd is “free as a Bird now”. Rock on to all my fellow Skynyrd fan brothers and sisters. To my friends who have passed and loved Skynyrd too, let me know how the concert was……………………..yeeeeehawwwwww!

It's now 2023 and all of the original members of Lynyrd Skynyrd are all gone. There all in Rock and Roll Heaven now. I want to hear from all of the Lynyrd Skynyrd fans out there and give me a big Hell Yeah. Gone but never forgotten. Soar high on the wing's of that Proud Bird in the sky above. Long Live Lynyrd Skynyrd.
  • I was born and raised listening to Skynyrd they are my top band, and my inspiration to play guitar. Gary Rossington is my favorite guitar player then Allen Ed and Steve. Rest In Peace Gary
  • Feels like I got struck by lightning with Gary's passing. Great inspiration for me and my playing. RIP Master

Gary had heart! You can see it as he played guitar. I believe him when he said it was manic❤ RIH Prince Charming
  • We will open for any band in the world and best of luck to them...That's confidence
  • Gary is certainly feeling no pain here, but I’m glad we can see this one. He said some heavy duty things. In the beginning he talked about watching the old footage and he said “damn WE WERE GOOD” “we had attitude”. He nailed it. They were viscous on stage. Incredible.

Saw this incredible band twice. First time in San Francisco way back when they first started. The Grateful Dead was supposed to play, but they cancelled and Skynyrd took the stage. What a treat! Second time was in Chico Cal., I believe in 1975 or 1976. We were right up front when my friend ended up passing out due to some heavy drinking and the band staff came out grabbed him and took him in the back room. When the show was over a friend and myself went in the back to get our buddy to drive him home. Met some of the guys in the band, but to this day I forget who they were except do remember seeing Ronnie Van Zandt. I was only 18 and intimidated by everything that was happening. What a band! They were the best!
