Love your videos - I wanted to see how the game would have ended if Tal kept playing though. And maybe some eval bars :)

Tal had a unique style of play. A style that would be possible only if engines were not invented.

Stunning vision and creativity from Fischer.
  • Ruthless game. Good to see the 2 best chess players ever in my humble opinion. Tal is my all time favorite
  • This is one of my all time favorite games. Thanks for the great commentary.

great game. I wish I could see what would happen if Tal continued to play

As I recall, Tal admitted that he simply spaced out and forgot to play a6 in time.

5:53 Thought Qa5 might be worth considering. But obviously Petrosian had boogered up his opening. Turns out it was super bad. Like 1000-level bad. So bad that (whatever this is... somewhere around move 12?) he's down 6.3 per SF. [Fish also does say Qa5 is top move. But white Q controls the big diagonal...hence the key square of a1. But it's pointless as the game is all but already over.] Just another reminder that human chess is blunderful...even at GM levels...even pretty much right out of the gate.
