HELLO, HI, WELCOME!!!

I'm Emily, and I've built a community of almost 100k people talking about the joys of slow running. I'm currently training for the Brighton marathon in April.

I hope you enjoy this running vlog running 30km with me for the very first time.

I ran for 2 hours straight yesterday. Slowly. I will do this every week for a few months and hopefully one day I ll muster the courage to sign up for a marathon.

Look at you, Emily! That is so so amazing, on your feet for FOUR hours. Well impressed. And look at all these comments of others you continue to inspire. Slow(er) runners run the world! ☺️

So nice to see someone running my pace and sharing openly. 30k is also my farthest to date and it also took me 4 hours. Presently recovering from chemotherapy and an even slower still. Well done persevering! Also highly recommend guava blocks much nicer than gels. Nakd bars work well for me too

Wow, 30k! Your marathon training is blowing my mind every week and makes me believe that maybe one day in the near future I'll make it too! Thank you for that hope!

I just stumbled across this video and it’s refreshing to see an honest beginner marathon runner vlog. You should be proud of this training run - you just ran 30km! It’s a huge ask to train for a marathon. I am also training with an injury so a slow runner and there are good runs bad runs and a lot of doubt! P.s My period wipes me out and a couple of runs was a real slog and felt faint, but out of your control. So I make sure I’m well fuelled big breakfast 2 hours before the run and on the run water and sugar drinks like lucozade and gels.)

Thank you for sharing your running content! I have been running SLOW for awhile, it's amazing to see a community of runners I can relate to and appreciate the struggle! Congrats on doing 30km!

I'm trying to get back into running after taking a two-year break and gaining quite a lot of weight. Your videos help me to stay motivated and not give up even when it feels like I'll never get back into shape. Seeing you run 30km is so impressive no matter the pace!
  • Omg you’re local to me! You’re running so so well. I’m also about to embark into my longest run ever a disgusting 20miles so it’s nice to relate to you as everyone seems to be flying whilst running long distances.
  • Emily, that was amazing! I can barely run for a full hour. I can't imagine running for 4 hours =D Also, my knees do that when I sit down too haha. Best of luck with the rest of your training!

You go Emily! I love your videos, super relatable and fun to watch :) congrats for your 30k

Nicely done Emily! I love these videos, they give me so much motivation for my runs (currently training for a half marathon - having never ‘been a runner’) 🏃‍♀️ keep it up!
  • Very good long run, Emily. I wish you all the best on your marathon training. Enjoy your run.

Let’s go Emily! I just ran 18 miles this weekend and it felt awesome, hope you’re recovering well after the fact

Thanks appreciate the view -- I did the Donna Foundation marathon 2/4 -- 05:22:45 and the E. Todd Murray half last Sunday 2:32:10 -- the last several years have been doing Jeff Galloway's Run/Walk/Run system
  • So nice seeing you run round where I love to run (the Hammersmith/barnes section) - it looks so beaut in the sunshine!! You smashed this 👏
  • Just found your channel! I ran a marathon last year and I’m excited to see your progress and training ❤️ subscribed

👌🏻👌🏻 perfect! your first 30km, take pride!! i've got to go through your back catologue as i've just discovered you and think you're my kinda person. Honest, refreshing and my pace (ie totally relatable!) If you don't already know about them, try Luchos Dilitos, they are great at a quick hit of energy and I find them really easy to eat on the go (guava sugar bars, nice tasting and good sugar). But, getting nutrition right is really difficult, some days I can get it on point and others not, it's a tough beast to crack but trial and error is the way to learn what you might need and able to stomach. Great work! x

Loving these videos Emily. Is nice to follow someone more relatable! I use huma gels as made from chia seeds and fruit. Also had a lemon Soreen for todays run😊 i might give Cliff blocks a go next time.

Great effort. Don’t underestimate the build of residual fatigue, it’ll probably be affecting you more than you know. I was meant to do 34k on my plan yesterday but had to call it quits at 24k cause I was so drained, so I’m fighting that battle myself! Good news is we will be so much fresher on race day after the taper, and faster paces will feel just as comfortable. Keep going 👏🏻
