Just subbed from Galway city, Ireland.......the LA Freeway system must be the biggest/craziest in the world. Bangkok is pretty big too. I remember watching the intro for 'Chips' .....showed the LA system back in the 1970s......must be even larger now......loved the music and beats in the Chips theme tune....pure 1970s

***** For whatever reason I cannot directly reply to your comments. Thank you, yes that was a close call. The final LA video is coming friday, too detailed to explain here.

Just loved the 67 trip. The music, psychedelic effects, so usual at that time, and the singles cover at the end.. just perfect. What a ride! Great job!

Ahhh, the relaxing joys of a Sunday morning cruise...around LA, of all places.  All the better.  Nice collection of routes you chose.  Thumbs up!

Far out.  I never get tired of listening to  "Incense and Peppermints" and I have been listening to it since 1967 (5th grade). Still relevant today in some ways.  With that '67 theme I was looking for Sgt. Joe Friday .
  • I covered the stretch of the 101-South when I was there earlier this month... 3/6, the day it kept raining! Looked so different; great post, enjoyed watching
  • Love those old 1960's era button-copy signs. They have an extra bit of charm in LA as they still emphasize that the freeways were known more by name than by number, like the overhead sign at 5:48 for the Hollywood Freeway. Also their extremely grimy appearance due to decades of being exposed to LA's infamous smog.

Long time since I've last heard of  Up, Up and Away. The other occasion I heard it was in 1978-80 but then this upload had brought back something I completely forgotten all about.

Fantastic video, Jim! It's always neat to get a small glimpse of an era that was WAY before my time. So long before, my dad was just a small child during the late '60s! Keep the videos coming! :D Alex
