Boss tier subjugators always have a "shield", so Microcosm absolutely deletes them, very useful during the dual destiny mission

No one cares about gambit but microcosm is the new braindead meta invader weapon. Literally microwaves people from across the map with no effort.

It still retains the 15% buff to anything except bosses because it's kinetic. They nerfed kinetics vs bosses with the patch, but left it for everything else
  • "It doesn't have high DPS, but for some reason it feels like it cooks outside raids." Its because it is a machine gun. Its a machine gun that looks like a trace rifle. That is its role.
  • Kinetics still get bonus damage on every tier of enemy except for bosses. This was a change in final shape. Which with this weapon I can see why.

5:10 remember that if the surge maches your subclass energy kinetics do recieve the bonus of said 25% if im not mistaken
  • @BirdmasterOne
Well duh it's not gonna be good against The Witness, dude took no damage from the significantly bigger paracasual beam during Lightfall's opening.
  • @chizn
"Uh, that's how guns work" - Love it.

There seems to be a lot of people incorrect in the comments. The Overcharged Weapons modifier is what provides kinetic weapons a damage buff when your Super matches one of the surges. Surges can be active in activities without the overcharged weapons mod (like the raid) and therefore, kinetic weapons would not get that buff. For things like nightfall, overcharged weapons are active and getting the damage boost is possible.
  • @VanpyroGaming0
If your super matches the surge, then the surge applies to kinetic weapons.

Well, Trace Rifles did receive a 20% buff on top of the base damage increase…
  • def my most fav weapon this season, i gotta say that first 40 bullets or so feels like a good trace and after 40 bullets it suddenly MELTS EVERYTHIN IN THE GAME for some weird reason

The main advantage I see to this thing is its forgiving nature for dps. If you miss shots on whisper or rockets, your dps decrease is significant. But the microcosm beam has no travel time, and each individual damage instance is less important, so missing a couple of criteria doesn't mean having to reload. Its condition for achieving its damage increase also isn't that contrived. Just pop goldy or thundercrash, or, well and boom, damage. It's a really safe weapon to dps with super consistent numbers. That, to me, is the main advantage of the weapon. Sort of like how people used thunderlord for a while on nezzy because less could go wrong.

Just PSA to everyone: kinetic weapons CAN get the surge as long as your super (or subclass element) MATCH the surge and the modifier “over charged weapons” is on.. you can hover over it and it says kinetics will be “surged” as long as your subclass or super match

this thing cooks with disruption break
  • @trunglerfevr
It's like a REALLY strong Heavy Machine Gun. It also gets the bonus damage against Dread enemies, which helps a lot in Pale Heart activities or even the seasonal activity since there's a Tormentor boss.
  • @Lokumun
It’s kinetic, those song of flame explosions are gonna go nuts
  • @rodnybalsamic
I kinda like it for the witness cause u don’t have to ads so you can see the blasts easier and you won’t blow yourself up cause someone strafed in front of you which is likely to happen there since you kinda have to move
  • If i'm not mistaken, the kinetic bonus damage doesn't apply for bosses, but apply for orange, red bars or mini bosses
