Enjoyed the video. Women who fish rock! I liked how she lightly petted the fish when she caught it. Very cute :)

Wow, she handled that rod and whipped that laker like a pro. Kudos.

I think she did a awesome job staying calm and landing the fish. Great catch!

Can't wait to get back out there !!
  • Awesome!  Watching that thing bend the rod in half, rip line off the reel, and those huge head shakes.......does it get any better?   NO, it doesn't!  Nice work you two.

Awesome catch!!! In goin out on Simcoe this weekend, now i have high expectations lol
  • @Shkwank C gaffs are only good for landing fish you plan to kill, this fish swam away for someone else to play with another day ! + It's much more enjoyable actually landing the fish. "Invest" LoL Had 1 and took it back, traded it in for a quad & yukon + a portable thermal summit. : P
  • We released the fish, I kept only 1 in my life as it wouldn't of made it back. No need for a heavier rod, it's a st.croix MH & I have stiffer rods but when the big 1 thrash around you need some play in the rod. Like my grandfather has always told me," the fish are where you catch em' " LoL Just watch the ice as it was thin and varied from spot to spot. 1 of our pegs went through almost instantly so I took it out and water starting coming out. Good Luck everyone & be safe !

Ooooooooo.  Nice.  What streets did you guys walk out from and what did you catch it on? Thanks.
  • 10 lbs ice braid with 8 lb floro tied together with a blood knot. It's a 32" or 36" medium heavy St . Croix ice rod. This fish was caught on a tube jig & ya girls that fish do rock !!!
