In 2013 an Iranian F-4 phantom was trying to intercept an American drone in international airspace and a F-22 was following him the entire time and when the F-4 armed its missile the F-22 radioed to the Iranian fighter and kindly asked him to disengage, the Iranian pilot had no idea he was there and bugged out without incident.

If the F22 was around in 1776, The founding fathers would have probably chose it as its Nation bird !!

The F-22 was not out in 1977.... What you are talking about is its predecessor... the F-15. The single seat F-15C is in my opinion the most sleek looking fighter ever made.

Trev, you can have the game walk you through a startup checklist where it shows you the buttons to press or you can watch it do it for you. In the top menu bar, I believe there is a checklist option that will run you through all that. For when you start the game at the parking spot rather than with the plane already on the runway ready to go.

Trev has to try DCS World if he loves fighter jets so much!

Lol he described the F-15 this whole video (aside from the stealth, expert ban and cost). F-15 flew in ‘77, has the 108:0 KR, but is still being modded today by us and the Allie’s we supplied them to. F-22 entered service in 2006, and only about 140ish were build of the original planned 340(+/-) and still has yet to prove itself in a conflict let alone a dogfight realm. Love the Raptor, but like all things it’s the user that determines the outcome. F-35 still has lots to prove.
  • The F-22 and the F-35 have different roles. The F-22 is for Air dominance like the F-15 was, the F-35 is more or less filling the shoes of the F-16 which also was a multi role fighter. One interesting fact about the F-16 is it was responsible for the development of Stealth by accident. Its cross section without external weapons is ridiculously small.
  • Saw the f22 and the p51 fly side by side a few years ago in chicago. When the f22 flew out to above the lake behind the skyline from my view and then turned to make its way north to my position in a matter of about a minute i knew that might be one of the most beautiful/ terrifying things I’ll ever see.

First flight of the F-22 was September 2, 1997, not 1977. Years of production was 1996-2011.

The F-22 is such a beauty of a plane, I heard that the F-22 is getting upgrades
  • @bbafett
These are my favorite video when you play Flight Simulator! Love the facts that you gather and loved the inclusion of you googling on closing the canopy. Keep it up Trev.

The 108/0 is the F-15 Strike Eagle, the F-22 has seen little really air to air combat.
  • @jp8612
The f22 is so beautiful and sounds amazing in real life
  • @johnfoster8729
Loving the flight sim vids Trev! Id love to see a series of you taking flight lessons IRL!
  • the F-22 can outperform the f-35 in almost every aspect, except Air to ground. the F-35 was designed primarily to be an attack aircraft, but one that can defend itself decently, It was not made to excel in air to air. so most 4th to 5th gen aircraft can beat it in air to air combat.
  • @xX3essoXx
would be interested in seeing the F-16, a decent multirole fighter jet dubbed the fighting falcon.
  • @randysmith9968
There is a Raptor 2 in development now, and its supposed to up the game by a lot. F35 doesn't utilize vectoring engines but both do some pretty incredible things (that is know to us) Raptor 2 is supposed to be more of a Gen 6 fighter.
