Lake Compounce has reopened the award-winning Boulder Dash roller coaster and they sent us an update POV video! America’s First Amusement Park received 1,000 feet of new Titan Track and the coaster’s train has been transformed by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company.

This off-season, the park team worked with Great Coasters International as the park continued its second phase of the Boulder Dash re-tracking project. The new steel Titan Track allows the ride to run smoother and makes it easier for the team to maintain. The coaster’s train was also transformed with a new froggy green color after visitors voted on their favorite color this winter.

The scenery and topography really sets this coaster apart. 😍 nice ride length as well

It feels like it picks up speed throughout the run. The turnaround is one of the best coaster elements I’ve ever experienced.

The kind of ride you'd see in roller coaster tycoon. Instead of it being a super compact track with very sharp turns, it goes all over the place soaring throught the landscape.

That's an amazing wooden ground hugger. Absolutely loved the ride Pov

I like rollercoasters like this, that allow you to enjoy the ride, with the ability of extended attention to the surroundings as well.
  • Love how smooth the track looks and sounds :) love the woods as well 😊

I need to finally visit Lake Compounce CT and ride this amazing terrain woodie.

That’s impressive when it gets some new Titan Track from GCI, which can reduce the maintenance costs than always retracking with traditionally wooden track. Unlike many other wooden roller coasters being given the GCI treatment, this one hasn’t gotten the central guideline thingy to intersect the wooden boards going across.

Excellent use of the natural land formations. Love the tree canopy as well, makes the ride just a little more immersive.

This does look incredibly smooth. I love the way the coaster goes through the terrain like that. Wonderful !
