The Bears shouldn’t get a penny until the stadium is totally paid off, and NOT any taxpayers!!!
  • Spending $3 or $4 billion so owners can make more income from VIP ticket sales!!! Noooooooo.

Stadiums are the sexy way to launder money these days….
  • Let me get this straight. Instead of the city investing in businesses, police department, fire department, infrastructure, education, social work...they decide to throw their money at a football club that is worth billions of dollars.

They better sell the naming rights to Uber because there is no parking and Uber is going to make a fortune.

Friends Of The Parks will not allow this stadium to be built.

This stadium is already a failure. In the presentation Kevin Warren said that in the basketball configuration the capacity is 77k, which means for football it’s about 70k and that’s way too small! Also, it will still be so painful to get to, public transit to that area isn’t good and there’s only one major road which is Lake Shore Drive.
  • the Bears are about to get slapped with an injunction & lawsuit from friends of the parks.. it's illegal build on the lakefront. the governor already said there is no money for this... 2 strikes!

Spending all this money to just still be owned by the packers still
  • No way is the price accurate. Just the rate of inflation will elevate the price by hundreds of millions of dollars. If they included the real cost over the 3+ years of the project, it would freak the public out even more. Plus it will be a 30 to 40 year financed project with tax payer money.

There’s nothing wrong with soldier field and in 20 years people will be complaining about how ugly this new stadium is.

I hope people wake the F up and start saying no. These owners are all wealthy enough to build their own projects. Jobs argument is total and utter bull crap, no new well paying jobs are created. The buildings for the most part don't generate enough return to justify the costs. Issue Bonds that the teams pay back, fine, asking for a free handout NO.

you have to take in account a lot of the roads are going to be reconfigured, that’s included in that infrastructure piece of the price. It’s not just the park

No parking is honestly why downtown kinda sucks. Public transportation: Chicago is not the safest city. Asking fans to "rely" on public services is a horrible idea. Can you imagine the train system on game day?
  • Its NOT walk "2 or 3 blocks to the stadium, no problem" I live here. It's a horrible location for getting to. There's nothing around there. It's a weird, confusing, cluster ___k of an area. This idea SUCKS.

Curious if the Soldier Field renovation from the early 2000’s ever fully paid back the taxpayers for that project
  • Why don't they charge a stadium fee for people that use it? I don't fish or hunt so I don't pay the licensing fees to pay for restocking rivers or game wardens and fish commisioners. You use it you pay for it, and you don't pay if you never use it.
