My Little Pony toys are often inaccurate, and this can lead to frustration for pretty much everyone. I'll be discussing the design flaws in MLP toys and how they can lead to confusion.

Hey y’all! Sorry this video took so long, I’m just kinda caught up in a lot of IRL stuff at the moment. (Also I may or may not be working on a couple hour length videos). Like I said in the video, I’m doing an AMA at 10k subs, so feel free to drop any questions you have!
  • The Luna ornament seems to be accurate because Luna's desing had slightly different colours in season 1 ep 1 than the rest of the show.
  • I’ve always been confused about the amount of inaccuracies in MLP toys, whether it’s pink Celestia, ponies randomly gaining or losing wings or horns, or the sheer number of figures with wall eyes! I have a Pony Life secret Rings Rainbow Dash figure that also just has red mane and tail - I call her Fire Dash! It’s ironic that other companies like Funko and even some gach-pon manufacturers give Dash her full rainbow colours when Hasbro can’t!

How could they commit such a crime? Making Sunset unattractive?!?! That's crazy talk!
  • The McDonald’s and pop figure versions are pretty accurate
  • The Fluttershy with Pinkie's Mark actually fits with the episode Magical Mystery Cure. Fluttershy had Pinkie's mark for a while in that episode.
  • This is why fan made merchandise are more preferred than what Hasbro gave us. And yet, some of these grown ass bronies ate them up like they were dope collectibles. 🤦‍♂️

I think ‘Snipsy Snap’ and ‘Snailsquirm’ are just more interesting. Plus, it’s easy to imagine ‘Snips’ and ‘Snails’ being nicknames, since they’re way shorter than most other pony names.

the most frustrating thing about collecting mlp is that cadence is this horrible neon shade of pink, she’s supposed to be around the same shade as pinkie but for some reason shes always this very neon dark pink
  • The Princess Luna ornament at 3:45 is based on her first appearance from the show. She appeared like that after she got turned back into Princess Luna after being Nightmare Moon for a long time. My mom also got me that ornament when I was in elementary school. 🌙

the name changes always confused me... is it because their names are just normal words? they couldn't copyright "diamond tiara" or "snails" or "twist" because they're just words? but silver spoon's name is also just words yet they could use her name just fine. even main characters like rarity and twilight are also just words too. did they want to give them quirky names to be more appealing? i dont think you could do anything to make snips and snails appealing...

The handful of "dazzle" ponies make me wonder if they're supposed to be like some sort of special edition ponies. Dazzle doesn't necessarily need to mean blinding, but more like a noticeable, attention-grabbing quality, whether physical or otherwise. Like, think of the term "bedazzled", which usually refers to physical shimmering and shining. It's kinda a "girly word" that has it's own definition independent of the standard English language. Think of it like a feminine Urban Dictionary.
  • Ok but for me the biggest disappointment was the midnight sparkle doll. I watched friendship games as a kid and kinda thought it was the most boring one because I didn’t understand the whole threat with the Principal and high school and that stuff. But when midnight showed up, something grabbed my attention. It was fascinating to me how the main character who always saved the day was now the villain, how the magic that changed her into midnight was the same magic used for friendship, implying that it wasn’t good magic vs evil magic. It was how you used it. And finally, having Sunset be the one to help Twilight, to see that she was once where she was, was just the perfect thing to end her main character development. I saved up all the birthday money I had as a kid at that time and bought a midnight sparkle doll. And I was really upset that it wasn’t accurate. But, it was better than none so I still loved it. Now that I’m older, friendship games is my favorite one due to how relatable it is. Sci Twi is my 2nd top kin, and I feel like they didn’t give her arc enough attention. The new content coming out is just making her seem like a human version of pony twilight and she’s loosing all of the personality traits that she had in the original movies. And even though Legend of Everfree was my favorite one as a kid, it’s actually probably my 2nd least favorite one now due to how rushed the ending is. They hint the whole time that Midnight still exists but Sunset basically keeps telling Twilight to just ignore that. So that’s why I’m writing a fanfiction of an alternate universe ending…one where both Twilight and Sunset are actually forced to accept Midnight’s existence. 😁

The thing with the names is all about Trademarking! They Will register characters with diferent name either because the show name is too generic to trademark(Snips & Snails) or because other company has the rights over using that name on toys, like how some Transformers have "Autobot" on the front of their names in the packaging (Hasbro even got mad that Mattel made a toy of the DC Bumblebee character because of naming shinanigans )
  • @kittiespwn5000
I think the Dazzleization of some ponies’ names is a trademark thing. The ponies that have their names changed are named fairly common words and phrases like “Twist” or “Cup Cake”. So they alter the name a bit so it becomes more trademarkable.
  • At this point, people who created MLP OC can just find figurine of their character by looking in the inaccurate toys ;w;

The Luna Ornament would have been nearly spot on if it was younger Luna, though the hair is a little too purple. Her hair in the show was a very pale blue with a whisper of purple, but if you just quickly glanced at it, it would have been blue.

3:24 Looks like My Little Pony joined the "Multiple Timelines Club" with Fluttershy staying trapped in Pinkie's role because Twilight couldn't find the Magical Mystery Cure. Such deep lore...

Agh I'm so glad to see someone talking about the toy inaccuracies. For some reason the blind bags always annoyed me the most. Like, I know they can't make a unique mold for every background pony, but come on.
