Watched a joust here in Australia.Found out that it is an international sport.All manner of horse/rider skills all worth points. The jousting lances have a metre(3 feet) tip of balsawood.The idea is to SHATTER your lance on your opponents shield Three points for a shatter,two for a break and one for a strike.Medieval lances had a hollow tin , pyramid shaped tip that crushed on impact
