For all those that followed along in my "Going Off Grid" series Thank you! I still have a lot of work to do around the property, actually perhaps it will never end. I have longed to get back into the workshop and get some fun projects started but more important jobs always seem to arise and need to be done first. So I thought I may as well capture the stuff that keeps me busy in the workshop.
In this video I make a set of Tractor Forks to help save my back lifting various objects around the property. Please note; These are not load rated and I use them at my own risk/ I am the only one that uses them. You must use things like these sensibly. I do not lift heavy loads that a forklift would lift, please keep that in mind.
I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!
Regards
Scott

Amazing that something so simple can be such a game changer!
  • Handy Dandy, a couple of tines is about the only thing I didn't have for my little Dingo back home in Oz. I always watch your videos to the end, I just wish others would do the same for my videos.

It's always a pleasure watching you videos! You built a nice set of forks useful for a variety of tasks. On my compact tractor and a few larger tractors I welded 2 short pieces of flat bar onto the sides and bottom of the bucket at a 45*, on both sides. Then cut two pieces of used drill rod steels to slid inside of those to make short log forks. The only purpose was to handle logs and they worked well.

Hey Scott! Greetings from the Adirondacks. Really handy build. Many years ago I built a similar set out of an old backhoe frame, they worked quite well. I've since passed them along to an old friend and they are still in use today! Love that tractor! 💪
