So sad to hear of the passing of Gregory "Cool Ruler" Isaacs after a yearlong battle with cancer, aged just 59.
Gregory not only possessed one of the most unique and recognized voices in the Reggae genre; he also had a "style" (cool and deadly) which was totally unique to him. The man was a trend setter, always looking crisp in his dapper suits and a fedora hat... I also love that coupled with his "sweet boy" image there lay a "rude boy" underneath.
Today is a really sad day for the Reggae world, especially after losing Sugar Minott so recently, but one thing I'm sure of, Gregory's tunes will never fade, and with his young son Kevin sounding so similar, Reggaes most exquisite voice will live on!
Rest in Peace, Gregory Isaacs (15 July 1951 - 25 October 2010)
