This song is obviously Drake referencing the theories that he got X whacked. The song is called Daylight, a play on X’s hit song Moonlight. The chorus is him repeating “Shot him in daylight, shot him in daylight, shot him in daylight” X was shot six times in daylight when he passed, Drake says “Shot him in Daylight” six times in the chorus. Just before the chorus he says: “I'm tryna fuck all the bitches that look like my EX I'm makin' her VEX, I'm too COMPLEX” 3 X’s (Like XXXTentacion) He even outright says: “I wasn't there when they caught the body TPS think that I bought the body Internet swear that I bought the body Take more than that to go pop somebody Them *** talk about everybody So lowkey I'm happy they got somebody” This might be a reach but it even sounds like he’s saying Broward (where X is from) at 2:02. I know Genius says he’s saying broad but with all the other subliminals in the song it’s probably just a double entendre. There’s also a Tony Montana sample in the beginning of the song who’s from Florida. He also has a song called “Members Only” on the album which is the name of X’s rap group. I don’t think Drake got X killed but he’s just playing into the theory and throwing slight subliminals to get people talking and probably to make his reputation as a “mob boss” seem more reputable.
