Just a note. Colder engines will have a more difficult time being "kick started" this works well if you've just rode it. Often times I have to choke it 50%, turn the idle screw clockwise a tiny bit, and once it's kickstarted, reach down and turn the choke off and disengage (pull in) the clutch lever

  • I actually figured out a much much better way of starting it, which is just more beneficial for me as rather than doing a kickstart especially when it’s cold it’s easier to pull the clutch in pedal a little bit and while you’re moving, let the clutch go and once it starts, pull it back in and then you can put the kickstand down. I found this method a lot easier than having to weirdly lift it up just to start it, especially in the winter of Ohio😂 And as long as you’re moving, slow enough, you can let the clutch go and pull it back in as many times, as you want until the engine starts rather than having to lift up the bike and kickstart every time which from experience is very tiring

A double leg kickstand will keep the back tire off the ground or a well placed jack stand by the rear dropout works if you are in the garage🖖
  • I always roll my bike backwards with the clutch engaged until just before TDC. When you go to start it, you will actually be just after TDC which mean you get a full revulsion before having to compress anything. Much easier starting and easier on the drivetrain.
  • I kick the pedal down and let the clutch go after I get the wheel spinning

Whats up! ik im late but for a pedal start motor can i do the same?
  • Are you fucking kidding me? I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time. I thought you had to start the bike with the clutch in so my clutch tightness must be perfectly fine. The only issue is you have to start at first and then pull the clutch and put it on the ground.😂 I’m gonna try this tomorrow morning and I really hope your method works because I’d love a faster way of warming up the bike other than riding on it until it’s warm😂

I stand on the other side and let the clutch out. Then kick it over. Standing on other side makes it easier to fiddle with the throttle while kicking.

Is that an 80cc? How much speed you get outta that thing?

Can’t do this for squat on my bike for some reason
