Man City boss Pep Guardiola 'pretty sure' Xavi will succeed at Barcelona.

Pep Guardiola was asked for his reaction to Xavi, who he used to manage at Barcelona, replacing Ronald Koeman as boss at the Nou Camp.

The pair worked together in the period where Barca had one of the greatest teams ever - so it is no wonder Guardiola was positive.

When asked in his pre-match press conference before the Manchester derby this weekend, Pep Guardiola voiced his support for his former colleague.

"Is it confirmed?" the Catalan asked.

"I didn't speak with him [Xavi]. I would love to do it but if finally the deal is done, of course, best wishes and I'm sure he'll do a good job."
