The buzzing sound they made; they still had them by the time I was a kid so I'm familiar with these. I miss em.

Wow the trains had 4 cars back then, very interesting. I never knew the red line went to Greenbelt and I love that buzzing sound that the trains made. This was taken 6 years before I was born and I lived in New Jersey for all 18 years of my existence and never been to DC, but because I watch so many DC metro videos, I know the WMATA quite well... or so I thought I did. Great video.

Oh yes, back when Bredas always made that buzzing sound!

That’s was the best era. Sounds of my childhood. The whine... the bing bong... so good.

Kewl vid. Thanx for giving me a piece of my childhood back.

Missed the rohrs and Breda subways

At the time there were no countdown clocks so it was a surprise when the lights blinked. Also the only payment was by paper farecard and there were bus transfer dispensers. During off peak many trains were only 4 cars, none more than 6

I see the Red Line was still running to Greenbelt then. Did they have to skip Fort Totten? Because I notice there is practically no way to get to it from the Red Line ROW.
