  • I live in the Houston area. My son is a lineman. You wouldn't believe some of the stories he's been telling me! Truly ridiculous...
  • I'm from Dallas and my dad always said, "It's better to drive around Houston than through it."

As a Texan, I find this news APPALLING ... shame on those people , and be thankful for those that showed up to help.
  • It's sad that someone did that to their water bottles, now delivery drivers and others will decline any type of generosity offered to them.. Humanity is disappearing..
  • I'm a Texan. I live 2 1/2 hours west of Houston. I don't go there if I can at all avoid it. Crime is ridiculous.....
  • @bpotts97
We left yesterday because of it… 23 years as a journeyman lineman and never seen anything like this before.. we drove 20 hours to get there and help..smh
  • As a lifelong Texan, Houston is the worst! Embarrassing and humiliating as a Texan and a human being.
  • @user-dl4lr2qp8x
As a native Houstonian we DO NOT claim those people! Shame on them!

As a Texan who knows people who have dealt with this Hurricane as well as many others, the scariest thing isn’t the storm, it’s the looters and crazies. Had a friend loose his whole camper the day before the storm hit, with all their stuff they were gonna take when they left. Had another who had a rando stalk their empty house and break in once they left. Neighborhood watches have been set up in the past that have exchanged fire with criminals trying to break into houses with the families still inside. Stay safe if you’re in Houston.

The most fucked up thing is the reason everyone was pissed at the linemen because they were just waiting around. Why?? Because the powers that be are arguing over how payment is going to go down. While they're arguing, the linemen are literally forced to be on standby.
  • You are absolutely right. Tell me, you don't want my help and I'm going back to my family, home cooked meals and my recliner.
  • @mar4oz
As a retired electrician… I agree go home and be safe let them deal with it themselves!!! Lol
  • Some co-workers went down to help get the infrastructure up after Katrina. They had similar stories. None of us volunteered for disaster relief after that.
  • @Shellnbaby
That's messed up! Perhaps the criminals don't want the power back?
  • @scottm.9382
Imagine a world where non-employed “people” make fun of/attack employed people. Wtf is this nonsense??
  • This is why in the "new" America we're living in today I DON'T DO JACK FOR ANYBODY!!!! NOTHING, ZIP, NADA, I KEEP WALKING LIKE I SEEN NOTHING, I KNOW NOTHING!!!
