Happy 10 Year Anniversary to Mario Kart 8!!!
  • @StickmanMK8DX
40:43 because the koopa clown and the ancient tires offer the best traction stat
  • 33:00. I think the original 48 are better in detail and I prefer their art style, but the Booster Course Pass tracks play a lot better, I prefer their retro choices, and have some cool tech like half pipes and such.

to answer ur question, the vast majority of top players dont play with motion, but its not hard to very quickly toggle motion either on a trick or during a miniturbo. Very worth it for tracks like mario kart stadium and dolphin shoals where the motion glider saves vast amount of time, and more than worth learning

Hey Troy, I've got some sunshine airport notes for you. The plane trick is slower unfortunately. We actually get to the plane too fast before it is in a trickable position. We have tried slowing down intentionally to get the trick, but the trick boost isn't faster than optimal driving. Secondly, the hardest part of this track is actually right after the cannon glider. the SMT (orange) into UMT (purple) is extremely difficult to squeeze out and is definitely the most advanced strat on the track. Most players should go for just a tight line here with an MT (blue) into UMT (purple).

1:07:40 One vital thing to keep in mind in this game is the concept of "boost cannibalization". You don't want to trick when a boost panel is coming, since the boost you'd get from the trick would be cannibalized by the panel. Since you get more air when tricking (thus, you go slower), the best thing to do is to charge MTs in mid air, only to release them after the boost panels. This is very important on tracks like Wario Stadium, Waluigi Pinball, Wild Woods... And in every track where you have boost panels near ramps (or boost panels in general)
  • 40:40 the reason the koopa clown and the ancient tires are being used is because they have high traction which is really good for dk summit. Yoshi has a good traction stat aswell.

Bro Funky using the surfboard car on Moonview is crazy honestly
  • 2:42:28 For a second I thought you were saying "what the varmint" as an exclamation (like "what the heck"). I'm definitely going to start saying that out of context to annoy my friends 😆
  • On 200cc, Ster actually made it to 1000 days on GBA Mario Circuit, great video Troy!
  • @q2xx438
0:39 Wario, Maok 8 and the crimson slim wheels offers the best anti gravity stat witch is very usefull on wii reainbow road
  • @LiamDeege
The longest video Troy ever did including streams was the combo sabotage stream he did. He also did a 3 hour and 30 minute stream with an old friend on Halloween once.
  • @vladimir520
Thanks for the great video, I really enjoyed watching all these runs alongside your commentary!
  • @emiljonsson6118
I always watch these videos all the way through. I love your reaction videos and all your videos overall, been watching you for almost 10 years now I think :D

To answer your question, using a mushroom at the very start of a race is optimal, but not because the section is awkward to drive. The acceleration at the very start of a race is slow, often slower than a small shortcut. It's optimal to use a mushroom at the start in one of 3 cases. 1: The track doesn't have any shortcuts (like Wii Rainbow Road or Water Park). 2: The best shortcut on the track (or shortcuts if it's a city track) doesn't save enough time over using your mushroom at the very start of the race (like Amsterdam Drift or Wii U Rainbow Road). 3. You end up going around for coins on lap 1 regardless of how big the shortcut is because of how important coins are (like Moo Moo Meadows or Ninja Hideaway). Sometimes, you don't use a mushroom at the start of a race when there are no shortcuts. This is because of the cycles of obstacles (or track elements like wavy road) and if you use a mushroom immediately, they'll get in your way and you'll have to purposefully slow down, or the cycles won't be in the fastest position. Examples of this are Toad's Turnpike and N64 Rainbow Road.

2:40:05 they are hopping because when you hop in that waterfall it ignores the downstream force of the waterfall so they go full speed
  • @ghastpixel166
Congrats on 500K subs! I’ll be around for the one million mark!
  • @PINKDIAMOND4000
