BBC South Today interviewed me about my Dad's adventures inventing and making crop circles with Doug Bower in the 1970's/1980's in the Hampshire and Wiltshire countryside.
I was also invited to perform my original song 'Painting Circles in the Corn' which tells of their experiences being the originators of the magical and mysterious folk art form...
The whole experience was moving and meaningful for me and the report was a fitting tribute to the two men who once upon a time 'Conned the World
Interviewer, Simon Marks. Camera man, Trevor Adamson.

  • Hi, Jim. Your Dad certainly did leave his mark. I'm an English teacher in China and I'm doing a lesson on crop circles today. Chinese teenagers will be learning about your Dad and his best mate.

Amazing video, truely amazing story. I grew up in the Cotswolds in the early 90s and it feels amazing to have a connection to this gem of history. Your dad and his friend are true heros and will live long in this countries collective memory. Thanks for uploading, love your music.

Your father, and Doug, were true landscape artists and have made a significant intervention on the folklore of the rural. Good people and lovely to see your beautiful music being recognised. All the best

Well I never did! Bless your lovely Dad! My old man would have been down the pub on Friday night and receiving a frying pan over the head when he got in late :-). You looked and sounded great in that clip. What a story!
  • This is a very interesting story and I really enjoyed listening to this ☺ It takes some real skill to be honest to make the circles and shapes. Wow !! Great video Jim my friend ☺👏👏👍

What a wonderful interview Jim, fantastic memories too! This is one of my favourite songs for yours, I loved it when you played it in the underground vaults in Southampton......and when you played St Michael's Square....in St Michael's Square! :) Keep up the great work mate, you inspired me to write my own songs all those years ago, and I still pick up the guitar daily.
  • Great to see this Jim - Doug & Dave were the towering geniuses of 20th century art, I sincerely believe that. What an idea! They sparked something divine that profoundly influenced many lives, including my own - I love the story of the corn on the kitchen table!
  • Hey Jim are we ok to run this on Sounds Good this week as a 'Special Feature'?

Your dad and Doug invented crop circles NOT Colin Andrews as he's claiming elsewhere. 😂
