Talbert St. Claire: Bass G Colin Goldie (Overton) Low Whistle
Megan Yalkut: East Indian Sarode (Similar to a Sitar within the Eastern string family)
Arranged by: St. Claire & Yalkut

I'm of the belief that "simplicity" goes a long way. Meaning, just 2 instruments can be a very intimate setting no need to overcomplicate the music. That was the idea - Simplicity.

I've always wanted to hear what the piece sounded like on the largest Low Whistle in the world - Bass G along w/ an Eastern setting for the arrangement. It has a bluesy feel to it. The Bass G is "uncomfortably large" & difficult to even look at yet alone play. Fortunately, I recorded it in 1 take & my hands were a bit sore due to the finger stretch. The photo at the very end was a time spent w/ Davy in Ireland & unforgettable experience 23 years ago.

Regarding Online Baritone & Bass Low Whistle Instruction:

I have played Bass Low Whistles for the past 31 years & recently I have had requests to teach individuals online. Currently, I have several students overseas. My rate regardless of your location is $80.00 US currency per session. However, if you have no prior experience on a Low Whistle & cannot play basic ornamentation, I cannot teach you. These instruments are large & can be very intimidating. The reason is because the Baritone Low Whistles & especially the Bass Low Whistles will be almost impossible to manage w/out some prior Low Whistle (example: Low D) experience & they are difficult to hold for many.

Keep in mind, my music is slower than most players, so I focus on slower music. Yes, one can play dance tunes w/ these larger whistles yet IMHO they sound much better played at a slow to medium pace. My email: [email protected]. Take care & thanks for viewing.
