Hero Of War is a song from Rise Against that truly deserves more shine. It's wonderful, simple, and powerful.

The good left undone, paper wings, give it all... more Rise Against please!
  • @thomas60274
Most people are sleeping on it but" people live here" is one of their best vocal songs. I saw it live and it hits where it needs to.
  • I've seen Rise Against a few times in concert and I can say for sure that Tim sounds exactly like this live also. He's incredible.
  • Rise against is astonishingly good and their messages are real raw and blunt. I love that you're diving into them
  • @cixelsyd40
Definitely check out their song "Make it Stop (September's Children)". It's a heavy song, but has a powerful message that needs to be heard.

This band has an endless amount of amazing songs. I hope you get to hear many more! One of my all time favorite bands.

If i may make a suggestion for a band to analyze in a future video: AFI. AFI was one of the big powerhouse emo/pop punk bands of the 90s and 00s. Davey Havok has such an unmistakably beautiful, dynamic voice, and a total mastery of his craft. He's also a beautiful man.

I remember when I first heard Rise Against. And they have been on my playlist ever since. 10-15 years I've been listening. And I have to say, their live performances are even more incredible. Tim McIlraths voice could hush the entire crowd. or make everybody scream at the top of their lungs. with barely an effort. truly awesome.
  • "Hero of War" or "Make It Stop" are absolute necessities for you to listen to. They woke something within me so real and raw.

I love Rise Against. I still have “Satellite” on my running playlist and they have been in my ear during some of my important moments.
  • @NovaVortexNV
This song is such a banger that it never left my playlist.

FINALLY!!! MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND!!! First CD I ever got at a kid was their first album! Watch Give It All for their original sound. And Help Is On The Way is a heartbreaking one reminding me of hurricane Katrina. But I literally have never heard a song from them I didn't like! Those are just a couple to mention. I've got a hell of a lot more to suggest for any purpose! That'd why I love them!

RA my favourite band and have been since 2006. A few facts. This song almost didn’t make the album, the band didn’t particularly like it, their booking Agent told them they were idiots to not include it. So they did, and it became their biggest song. Tim would also be cool to get an interview with. He’s one of the nicest guys in rock ‘n’ roll and up until 2017, nine years after this song was released. He had never had a singing lesson, but his voice started to play up, and he started to Get issues on an off stage. He got vocal training in between their album, wolves and their latest album nowhere generation. The difference in his voice between those two albums is crazy, because he has found a way to bring the grit back into his voice without destroying his voice. And that’s basically 20 years into his career. Anything from the albums, revolutions per minute, siren, songs of the counter culture, the sufferer and the witness or Appeal To Reason is basically solid gold. And the latest album, Nowhere Generation is brilliant because he has been able to let loose vocally in a way he wasn’t able to sustain for a good few years. Because of vocal lessons.

I recommend another song by them called Hero Of War. It is deeply moving and very poignant. Very worth a listen. Possibly even a video?
  • @MozillaFennekin
Rise Against has been my favorite band for 15 years now; it's so great hearing such a detailed and enthusiastic review of their music. If you find yourself looking to do another RA analysis, I'd recommend "Ready to Fall" to get Tim's hardcore vocals on full display.

Rise Against and Bad Religion are delightful bands. It's amazing how they take some 'simple' punk chord progressions, up tempo drums, and passionate vocals and make absolute magic out of it.
