Even in 2020, the original three (Magical Sound Shower, Splash Wave, Passing Breeze) are still amazing to listen to while driving.

If I had all the quarters back I plugged into Out Run when I was a teenager, I could retire.

OutRun 2006 is absolutely my favorite of the series by a country mile. A blast to play, so you won't hear any jeering from me on the OutRun 2 front! This was fantastically informative; good work!

This series means the world to me just as much as Sonic the Hedgehog, so seeing all the games, especially Outrun 2, really brought me back. This complete history rocked.

I'm really glad you included footage of Yakuza 'cause as someone who never owned any Sega consoles growing up, my first time actually playing OutRun WAS in the Yakuza 0 arcade, and honestly...I loved it. It was probably the one arcade cabinet in that game I went back to the most. Awesome and informative history lesson as always, dude.

The Leeds arcade club has a hydraulic Outrun, Space Harrier, Afterburner and loads of other stuff, including a sit-down Enduro Racer!

I have never played this game before, but it's music and general aesthetic is sublime. I only really discovered it through my love for Synthwave music (a musical derivation of the game's soundtrack). Needless to say, Outrun is a very special game--an experience.

Outrunners is my favorite OutRun game. Spent a summer in the early 90s playing it in an arcade daily and loved it. Was sad I could never find it again after that summer.

Outrunners was actually the first game in the series that I played. My cousins hometown had a duckpin bowling alley with all kinds of fun arcade games, prizes, and a snackbar with pretty good pizza. Sometimes I'd give up on the bowling and play the Outrunners machine for three hours straight š¤£š

I love OutRun so much I paid for the soundtrack. The game is so awesome they really outdid themselves. ššš

I forgot how much I liked Outrun. I had Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast for the PS2 but sold it because it takes up alot of space on your memory card. I re-brought the title along with a new memory card and I'm glad I did.

Loved the original hydraulic cabinet in my local arcade. Was more pricey at 30p a credit though ! Only played Outrunners there many years later a few times though. Still play Coast 2 Coast regularly on original Xbox. Great video. Cheers.

In Argentina Outrunners was a very popular game. Every Arcade has the 8-linked cabinets, and satnd-up cabinets were also very popular here.

Outrun is the point 0 of the synthwave movement! Kavinsky, one of the first if not the first at all synthwave artist took inspiration from outrun and in specific from the Splash wave track! Check it out! Almost the same notes in his most famous songsā¤ļøš

I agree 100% Outrun2 is the perfect Outrun game. I remember my buddy Matt telling me it was out and we drove down to Westward Ho and played it all day. Still have the Xbox live and Xbox original too! I also had battle Outrun as a Kid. I loved Chase HQ and it was cool driving in the back of the truck at the end of the stage (Forgot all about that until I saw your video!) Good memories man
