In this week's video, I plan to look back at what is quite possibly the most obscure cartoons going (+ 1 puppet show)

Taken mainly from the UK these forgettable 80s and 90s cartoons include...
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Count Duckula
Bravestarr
Bangers & Mash
& Edd the Duck! (yes... this one wasn't a cartoon)

Hope you all like this video, It really was great fun to go back and "member" all those classic cartoons from compilations. The video was actually supposed to be a "quickie" whilst I worked on future Kickscammers and Complete History videos... but I ended up spending ages re-watching old Bravestarr episodes (among other random cartoons) I Always had a soft spot for the Dreamstone myself (sadly they never made a game of that one tho) :(

Everyone remembers Count Duckula... Seeing as he had Marvel comics, they need to make him part of the MCU
  • @bjrnen8505
Oh, god... I do remember Bravestarr. Space and cowboys were two of the coolest things ever back then. As well as ninjas and pirates and Arnold Schwarzenegger. But I do remember getting that Bravestarr horse for Christmas and my eyes filled with tears and I were just so happy to get a horse. But this one could stand on two legs and fire a big gun. Now that's a horse, I'll tell you. It's not a doll horse is a action figure horse dammit.

I remember Count Duckula. A definite classic and even have all of episodes on DVD

"We Brits never really got Jim Henson quality puppetry here" - The Muppet Show was a British show, made in London.
  • sure someone has already mentioned this, but you said that England never got Henson-quality puppetry -- but the Muppet Show was filmed in England

I used to love watching Count Duckula when I was a kid. Right after shows like "You can't do that on television" and "Hey Dude!"
  • @SwiftNimblefoot
Bravestarr was frankly, far better written than She-ra or He-Man. it tackled some serious themes even, like racism, drugs, even killing by accident in the line of duty! Y'd be surprised.
  • @Mystemo
Bravestarr is perhaps the most underrated cartoon of the 80's, I'd even rate it better than MOTU.
  • @bigthecat100
Oh wow, Bangers & Mash wasn't ringing any bells but hearing that theme song brought it all back!
  • I'm gonna be perfectly frank; while I'm familiar with some of these, I gotta admit my favorite Cosgrove/Hall production is Wind in the Willows. Not that it needs a game but that show is comfy and relaxing from start to finish. <3

This is a trip back in time. I remember Count Duckula. It played super early in the morning. BraveStarr, that was a unique trip. Ah the 80's, Animation miss you old buddy
  • @godrilla5549
I love watching attack of the killer tomatoes every couple of years, it's one of my guilty pleasures.
  • @thisithis
And yet no Exosquad for the Sega genesis based on the American animated TV show created by Universal Animated Studios of the same name. The Exosquad back in 1993 was about racism, horrors of war, losing loved ones in war, and betrayal. And the Sega genesis game was about Time travel.
  • @NCHProductions
Hoo boy bangers and mash was syndicated on Singapore's local tv broadcast, there's no way I would forget that theme song, also along with the other Brit super hero cartoon, banana man....
  • @SuperJim
Enjoyed that. Good stroll through some childhood traumas. If only they made Hammertime and Rude Dog games - I'd be all over it.
  • I really dug this one Dan, must have been less intense to work on than a big complete history or research heavy kickscammers. It's nice to cover some different stuff with the brief overviews. Count Duckula was a nostalgic toon for me.
  • Fun fact the kid that sings that horrible puberty Love song in the first killer tomatoes movie later became the drummer of Soundgarden
  • wow, there was a brief shot from The Shoe People, a cartoon from my VERY EARLY childhood that i hadn’t even realized i’d forgotten about. what a strange feeling!
  • @mattr75
There was also a planned video game for the California Raisins for the NES, but that was also cancelled. Still, good video
  • @Skip2TheEnd
Who could forget Count Duckula?!? One of the greatest cartoon intros/outros of all time!
