Please do treat yourself to Ann of Green Gables, a favorite of three generations of my family, enjoyed by a young teen and given to my mother on a kindle to have with her in the nursing home she moved into when she was 88. I am the middle link in the chain.

I’ve started reading The Wind in the Willows to my 5&3 year old at bedtime. Such a lovely book! Loved the book list!

There's a wonderful unofficial "sequel" to "The Wind In The Willows" entitled "The Willows In Winter" by William Horwood, published in 1993 which details the further adventures of our favourite characters from the classic original. Obviously not a springtime read it may be one to savour by the fireside in the bleak and dark December!

Such beautiful spring recommendations. I've read and enjoyed many of these. I still need to read Middlemarch (I got a wonderful edition at an estate sale last year) and The Shell Seekers, which I thrifted after your recommendation in an earlier video. 🤗

Love these recommendations. I've read a few of them, Dmma is such a fun read. I used to love Thd wind in the willows. It was on TV here in Iceland when I was a child and it was so nice to watch.

Great list of books. Have read some of these and definitely will re-visit Room with a View, Emma and Middlemarch - that one I haven't read since secondary school. Another author I like to read in spring is Beatrix Potter. Il over her illustrations and her stories.

Great selection. Read a lot of Monica Dickens years ago, think I will reread one and see how I feel about her now. I have just bought your ' Out Of Time' it arrived today, when I've finished what I'm reading now yours will be the next on my list.

I love Anne of Green Gables and The Secret Garden 🩷. I think I liked A Little Princess even more than The Secret Garden which says a lot (at least to me 😊). Emma is my second favorite Austen, just behind Sense and Sensibility. Very much looking forward to Spring 🌷. Thanks for sharing!

What a lovely list! I have read and enjoyed many of these. The Monica Dickens book is going on my TBR, and I think I'm going to give The Shell Seekers a re-read. I join you in hoping that spring comes soon.

I totally agree about reading children's books as an adult. I've read and re-read Wind in the Willows, what a beautiful book it is!

The Runaways by Elizabeth Goudge. A “children’s book” , is one of my favourites. In the 1960s my college professor , Mr Mattem told me that there was no such thing as a children’s book, that such divisions were wrong. I’ve always kept to this idea and feel that many “adults “ have missed out on literary treasures that they felt must be too juvenile to bother with. Shame. Might I add that I love your choice of books. Kind regards.
